Chapter 1384 - 1386
Zhao Guangran dragged himself back to the villa, feeling exactly the same as when he went out this morning.
"Oh right, today’s yacht party is off, we’ll reschedule for tomorrow." As soon as she walked in, Gong Ruini hurriedly rushed to the bedroom to take a shower.
Even though she’d rinsed off quickly on the yacht, it was really as simple as simple could get, and Gong Ruini still felt a bit gross.
Take a proper shower, and then if possible, soak in the jacuzzi for a while.
If she could have a glass of red wine while looking at the Pacific Ocean in the moonlight, that vibe would be pretty damn good too.
It’s a big day today—seeing Zhao Guangran make such a fool of himself, she really should’ve celebrated properly on the spot.
Even if she couldn’t celebrate in front of Zhao Guangran, celebrating in the bathroom was fine too.
Anyway, today was Zhao Guangran’s day of disgrace, so it absolutely had to be celebrated.
Seriously? There’s still going to be a yacht party? Zhao Guangran stared at that someone who tossed out one sentence and rushed off so fast her shadow vanished.
"Bro, look at Sis-in-law."
"Yeah, I screwed up today, but you’re saying Sis-in-law didn’t do anything wrong?"
Hmph, even if big bro keeps siding with Gong Ruini, so what? He’s also big bro’s biological little brother. No matter how much of a guy-who-values-girls-over-bros he is, he can’t go this far.
Besides, Gong Ruini has had her share of screw-ups before too. Anyway, if she doesn’t get some sort of punishment this time, he absolutely, absolutely refuses to accept it.
Seeing his little brother looking so unwilling to accept it, Zhao Xuran patted him on the shoulder. "Relax."
"I’m a reasonable person."
"Whoever messes up has to be properly taught a lesson."
"Otherwise, next time someone screws up, we’ll have no leg to stand on when we try to lay down the law." Once the rules are set, they have to be enforced; if you’re not going to enforce them, there’s no point setting them.
No way, big bro is actually planning to seriously lay into Gong Ruini? Holy crap. Zhao Guangran’s jaw dropped wide open.
"Bro, are you serious?" Zhao Guangran asked excitedly.
But right after he blurted that out, he felt he was being a bit too excited. "Uh, forget it, bro, Ni Zi’s a girl."
"And it’s my fault too. If I hadn’t poked the bear first, she wouldn’t have said all that."
Zhao Guangran thought it over and decided he really couldn’t afford to think too highly of his big brother.
Even if right now big bro seemed like he wanted to help him get his dignity back, usually once big bro "helped" him do that, what awaited him was a giant hole to fall into.
Zhao Xuran was focused on going to "discipline" Gong Ruini; he didn’t have time to scold his little brother. Especially when such a perfect opportunity had been delivered to him by his brother—he definitely couldn’t miss it.
If he missed this chance, Zhao Xuran figured it’d be really hard to find another one this good.
Especially with those two little troublemakers—their ability to cause chaos was top-tier, but once they’d suffered a truly painful lesson, they usually didn’t repeat their mistakes too many times.
"I’m afraid I’ll be the one falling into the pit again." Watching Zhao Xuran hurry toward the bedroom, Zhao Guangran was honestly all kinds of uneasy.
He really didn’t get how his big brother was suddenly acting like some hormonal teenager, when the truth was, he and Gong Ruini were basically an old married couple by now.
Even if certain things hadn’t happened yet, it’s not like they didn’t hug and cuddle and sneak kisses all the time, right?
Not to mention, ever since they started "driving," all sorts of intimate moves were absolutely "if you wanna do it, just do it."
Hmph, did they really think he hadn’t noticed the hickeys on Gong Ruini’s body and neck the past few days? Zhao Guangran smirked darkly. "One look and you can tell how passionate my brother’s been."
Forget it. His usually pretty steady big brother doing something this impulsive wasn’t easy, so he’d better not mock him.
Dai Limin went to the kitchen to grab some food and drinks. Even though he’d already eaten plenty on the yacht, with the vibe being so off, how could he have possibly eaten his fill?
He’d originally hoped someone would suggest a big feast, but in the end no one said a word. Thankfully the butler was competent enough not to let the fridge run out of things they could eat.
He hadn’t expected that just stepping out for snacks, he’d get to hear such an idiotic rant from Zhao Guangran.
"You’re thinking way too simple," Dai Limin couldn’t understand how Zhao Guangran still wanted to keep flirting with Gong Ruini at every opportunity.
If it were him, he would absolutely never do something that stupid.
"Just think about it—no matter how Xuran ’disciplines’ Gong Ruini, whose head do you think she’s going to pin that tab on?" After saying that, Dai Limin sauntered back to his room.
All the way back, Dai Limin was in a fantastic mood. Think about it: some kid who’s always considered himself so slick is now stuck in a hole he dug for himself. Of course he had to laugh about it all day as a celebration.
In his room, Dai Liren was typing data into the computer. Hearing Dai Limin laughing, his first reaction was to tell him to shut up. Didn’t he know he was coding? Didn’t he know he needed peace and quiet?
Dai Limin set some food down in front of Dai Liren’s spot. "Bro, you know what?"
"Know what." Dai Liren was originally going to say, "What are you even trying to do? If it’s not vivid or funny enough, don’t bother."
"That kid Zhao Guangran, I’m telling you, he’s definitely getting buried alive by Xuran this time." Dai Limin was genuinely impressed by Zhao Xuran.
That guy was seriously cunning. Luckily he wasn’t enemies with him—otherwise, how would you even live?
Listening to Dai Limin excitedly recount the stuff he’d just eavesdropped on, Dai Liren couldn’t help but snort out a laugh too.
"Relax. Who knows how many times Zhao Guangran has gone looking for death. One more time won’t kill him."
Whoa, there are lots more times he’s gone looking for death? Dai Limin pricked up his ears, ready to hear one or two stories. Even if they weren’t that entertaining, it didn’t matter.
As long as it was Zhao Guangran’s dark history, it was good. But why did second bro stop after just one sentence? Didn’t he realize that kind of half-story was totally torture?
Zhao Guangran grabbed a few cans of beer and some snacks from the fridge, went back to his room, sat down, and cracked open a can.
"Wow, big bro, you’re seriously despicable."
"I’m not taking the fall for this." Clearly it was big bro who’d been up to all sorts of bad stuff, which made Gong Ruini come up with punishments for him.
Especially since Ni Zi’s swimsuit today was gorgeous. Even though big bro was trying his best to restrain himself, there are some things you just can’t control, right?
There was basically no way to restrain himself. Zhao Guangran had been busy all day—apologizing, serving tea and water, tossing out random lines to make her happy. It was exhausting.
Meanwhile big bro—what "reputation damage"? What reputation does he even have to damage? It’s not like he’s famous, and they’re in the United States; who the hell is going to care whether some random guy like him lives or dies?
"Tomorrow I’m going to have a proper talk with Ni Zi," he muttered. They couldn’t keep being the unlucky ones; big bro had to get some punishment too.
Zhao Guangran picked up the alarm clock on his nightstand and set the time. Since he’d already decided to go apologize, he might as well be brave and get up early.
When he went to give Gong Ruini her present, he’d tell her his plan. Even if she never posted anything online, as long as big bro got punished, that would be enough.
