Chapter 1383 - 1385
Gong Jiaming brought a glass of juice to Dai Limin, who was reading in the cabin.
Gong Ruzhi, sweating profusely, followed behind Gong Jiaming.
"Thanks." Dai Limin put down the book in his hand and carefully took a look at the juice he was handed.
"How are they doing?" Dai Limin genuinely regretted it; he had clearly said he wouldn’t get on the yacht and attend the so-called yacht party. Why hadn’t he insisted upon it?
If he had insisted back then, perhaps he wouldn’t have found himself in such an awkward situation.
"How could they be fine?" Gong Jiaming was speechless. "Even though there are few people on the boat, I think that’s quite nice."
There were a lot of unfamiliar faces. Gong Jiaming honestly had no desire to socialize with them, even though Zhao Guangran said it would be nice and relaxing.
However, Gong Jiaming truly never saw this as a way of relaxing. Instead, lying on the yacht prevented him from properly resting.
"It would be better if there were more strangers, at least the atmosphere wouldn’t be that awful." Both Zhao Guangran and Gong Ruini wouldn’t expose this situation to the public.
At least on family outings, the days would pass well with activities like fishing or swimming.
The problem was that everyone on the boat was familiar, and they had no need to hide their feelings. They would vent freely if they felt upset.
"Yeah," Dai Limin took a sip of the juice, "I was thinking I could go swimming, but just look at the atmosphere outside."
"Yeah, it’s really awkward." Gong Ruzhi, being Gong Ruini’s younger brother, naturally stood in support of his sister.
Even though Zhao Guangran was nice to him, nothing could surpass the status of his sister.
"Actually, Ni Zi was wrong in this matter too." Even if saying so might displease Gong Ruzhi, Dai Limin felt compelled to tell the truth.
"Regardless of what you say, you can’t criticize a man’s abilities. For a man, that is really a big blow to his self-esteem." In any case, Dai Limin couldn’t imagine if his abilities were ever questioned.
Even if someone joked about it, Dai Limin guaranteed he would immediately fall out with them.
"From my standpoint, I have to support Zhao Guangran this time." Even if it made Gong Ruzhi unhappy, Dai Limin had to speak the truth.
Gong Ruzhi glared at Dai Limin unhappily. If he had known this guy would say that, he wouldn’t have suggested Gong Jiaming make him juice.
This heartless guy should just be left to starve and thirst in the cabin; such a person is not worth showing sympathy.
"What’s this about supporting Brother Guangran? He just wanted to criticize my sister." Gong Ruzhi huffed, angry that someone who didn’t know the situation was already weighing in.
Don’t they know that without proper understanding, one has no authority to express a standpoint?
Wait, and before? Gong Ruzhi’s comments energized Dai Limin, who started staring at him non-stop.
How could he say that? Dai Limin’s animated reaction made Gong Ruzhi feel like running away.
But why should he run away? Clearly, someone was being excessive. Gong Ruzhi angrily recounted the whole process of why the argument occurred.
It’s so tough. No way, Dai Limin really didn’t know how to criticize Zhao Guangran. Clearly, he had the head of a smart person, but why did whatever he said bypass his brain?
"Do you think my sister wouldn’t get mad?" Humph, his sister truly wasn’t someone who got petty or went out of her way to provoke others.
He’d be mad, too. Dai Limin almost nodded but then thought better of it; if they reconciled, he would again be the pitiful one.
"You know, let’s not get involved." Dai Limin thought for a long time and admitted he couldn’t say who was in the wrong.
"Guangran shouldn’t have criticized Ni Zi’s figure, and Ni Zi shouldn’t have commented on Guangran’s abilities," Dai Limin simply pointed out their mistakes.
"Hmph, knew you were unreliable." Gong Ruzhi glared fiercely at Dai Limin. This guy is such a slippery character, with no real opinions of his own.
Gong Ruzhi wouldn’t bother asking Dai Limin; it would be futile. Better to ask someone else.
"Brother Dai, what do you think of this?"
"Of course, it was definitely Zhao Guangran’s fault." No matter what Dai Liren thought, his stance was clear: Zhao Guangran was at fault.
"A man must have gentlemanly manners. How could he bully a woman?" More importantly, he shouldn’t have suppressed her at all.
As far as Dai Liren was concerned, Zhao Guangran was asking for trouble this time, and his good days were behind him.
See, that’s Brother Dai, strong-willed, unlike certain people who have no stance whatsoever.
No way, Dai Limin was stunned by the answer from his second brother. Earlier, his second brother wasn’t of this attitude. He also said Ni Zi’s words were a bit much, but now he changed his stance?
Unbelievable, this matter was a real trap set by his brother. Dai Limin was so mad he felt he shouldn’t have trusted him at all.
No matter how frustrated Dai Limin was, he could only watch Gong Ruzhi treat his second brother politely: bringing him juice, fetching food, even massaging his legs.
That whole treatment left Dai Limin dumbfounded. If he could go back half an hour, he would have fully supported Gong Ruini.
Anyway, Zhao Guangran, that little boy, didn’t need his support. No, even if he needed it, so what? With Zhao Xuran stepping in, the proud financial prodigy Zhao Guangran would surely be subdued.
Right, how did he forget about the ultimate boss Zhao Xuran? In any case, he wasn’t unjustly defeated this time.
In the cabin, Dai Limin regretted various things, while on the deck, Zhao Guangran was deeply chagrined, "Brother, I was wrong."
"Bro, I really spoke without thinking because of how Ni Zi angered me."
"Bro, you have to believe me."
"Ni Zi and I were just fooling around; there was no real intention behind it."
Looking at Zhao Xuran peacefully lying on the beach chair, Zhao Guangran felt utterly helpless.
If his big brother scolded him, at least he would feel relief, but his big brother just stayed silent, which was the most unnerving part.
Gong Ruini was acting cautiously beside him, "Watermelon juice?"
"Hey, how about the pineapple? It’s really good today, I can fetch some for you?"
"Or maybe sashimi?"
Even though Zhao Xuran didn’t say anything against her, Gong Ruini knew she absolutely couldn’t act arrogant.
Though she really wanted to mock Zhao Guangran for his tactlessness, Gong Ruini dared not say a word out of line, fearing it would get her into trouble.
Zhao Xuran watched as one was constantly apologizing and the other was running around preparing food and drinks for him, taking care of his needs.
"Ah, having a good wife is the best," Zhao Xuran sighed deeply.
Whew, Gong Ruini slowly felt relieved after holding her breath anxiously for so long. Although he hadn’t said she’d be forgiven, she knew how to interpret what was unspoken.
No way, why was everything about Ni Zi, when he was being good too?
Did he need to fetch some food and drinks too? Zhao Guangran’s mind worked rapidly; if his big brother let Gong Ruini off so easily, he could do the same.
