Rise To Power: Death To My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 15: Blue Balls

Anita reveled in his distress. She deliberately brought this up, so they’d end up fighting, that way, he wouldn’t lay those filthy hands on her for weeks, or probably months, while she took care of her own matters.

In fact, she wanted him gone from this house. Sharing a roof with him made her sick to her stomach, let alone being this close to him.

But of course, her face remained calm and cold. "You don’t respect or honor me anymore, David." She continued, "You humiliated me in your office over a pregnancy prank I pulled and didn’t check on me for days... and then, you lost the Mother jewelry to another bidder, knowing how much I wanted it."

She paused, watching his face change colors repeatedly, "How much was it worth? Twenty million? You couldn’t get me twenty million jewelry, just because I played a harmless prank on you?"

Anita had no idea David bought the jewelry for Linda instead. Mother was the highlight of the auction, so of course, after the auction was completed, the public got to know how much it was worth.

David sighed with relief. He thought she had found out about his infidelity and deceit, but he was still annoyed at how she was speaking to him.

"Why would you prank me with something like that?!" he lost it, not because he was still angry over the prank but because he wanted to guilt-trip her into having sex.

"You raised and dashed my hopes for a baby, so why make fun of me!? We’ve been together for over eight years, yet there was no signs of pregnancy—not before or while married. Other men would have cheated on their wives—gotten themselves mistresses, but I didn’t."

David’s voice cracked with emotion, his words tumbling out in a desperate bid for understanding. "I stood by you, Nita, through all the failed attempts, not even a single miscarriage, the disappointments, the desperation... And this is how you repay me? By taunting me with a fake pregnancy?"

David’s eyes blazed with hurt and anger, his chest heaving with the effort to contain his emotions, as he sat up, staring down at her with indignation.

Anita must be the queen of facial expressions, because, despite the heart-eating-rage boiling inside her, her face remained expressionless.
