Chapter 14: Leaving
Lucien's expression returned to seriousness. He hadn't forgotten what his goal was, and that he was still being chased by Reynard's men. But first;
"How are you feeling, Selene?" He asked in concern. The series of events had been fast and unpredictable, and he had no idea what Selene felt about it.
Her face lit up with a bright smile. "It was exciting my lord. I was able to help you, and I met with sister Luna" Her excited face dimmed. "Too bad she left."
Lucien stroked her head instinctively, "It's okay Selene, maybe we'll meet the again someday."
Selene nodded her head obediently. She then noticed where Lucien's hand was, and blushed furiously again. Lucien was startled and took his hand back accordingly. This time he wasn't too flustered, after all, he was no bumbling virgin. Hmmm.
Selene and Lucien made their way to the hole they had fallen through. There was no other way out of the ruin, none they had found at least. They could see the faint morning light through the wide hole, informing them that they had spent quite some time in the ancient abode.
There was only one problem, How were they supposed to make their way out of the hole. Lucien and Selene looked at each other cluelessly.
Suddenly Lucien slapped himself on the forehead. They were both thinking like powerless mortals. He activated surge, bent down to gather force then leapt up.
His body shot up like a cannon and banged on the ceiling, completely missing the hole by a distance. He heard Selene gasp in shock and then Lucien's body plummeted to the ground, luckily he was held by Selene. Lucien felt like burying his head into the ground.
The collision hadn't hurt him, his vitality when paired with surge ensured that, but he felt like his image as a young lord had completely collapsed.
Selene was powerful now so she could sense he wasn't hurt. She tried to keep he giggles in but ended up failing miserably. Her heavy breathing and occasionally leaked out giggles alerted Lucien.
