Chapter 432 432: Daddy Is Cunning.
Leo and Elvin sat on the couch discussing various things about the business model, and just then Snow received a call, after a brief exchange she said, "So, there is some good news, and then there is some bad news, which one do you want to first?"
Leo asked, "The bad news?"
Snow sighed and replied, "There is a storm going on in the Southern Ocean. There has been some damage to the anchor points. We have called for the evacuation of some people before we can stabilize the situation."
Leo nodded and said, "That is fine, what is the real bad news, did the waves harm the elevator channel?"
Snow shook her head and replied, "The navy from the eagle nation that was in the region for some drills, they had some malfunction and want to dock with the platform."
Leo narrowed his gaze and asked, "What did the government authorities say about this?"
Snow replied as she sat down next to Cherry, "They have denied the permission, but the Eagle Nation is stating that there are human lives at stake and they want are also promoting this on the media platforms."
Leo stood up and said, "Now, we have the government support. Let me make a call."
Just when he was about to make a call, his phone rang and he noticed that the number belonged to the Duke. Leo picked up the call, and said, "Greetings, Your Highness."
The person on the other side smiled and replied, "Greetings to you as well, Lord Cardinal, I was just about to call you."
His response caught the other guy off guard, and he asked, "Well, if it is about the issue regarding the Eagle Nation Warship asking to dock with your port, you have complete control over that situation."
Leo was surprised and asked, "Thank you, Your Highness, but if I were to take any aggressive actions would it not reflect badly on the nation?"
The Duke replied calmly, "It will not, you should go ahead with courage. I have already informed the authorities and the otherside will soon try to reach out to you. They think that we all have no clue how they just want to try and see through the technology. Go ahead and do what you wish."
Leo thanked the man once again and said, "Well, thank you, Your Highness, I will get to it right away."
Then the two people had a small talk and the conversation came to an end. Leo turned to look at Snow and said, "We have a free hand."
Snow sighed in relief and Elvin was shocked, he asked, "The Duke gave you a free hand?"
Leo shrugged and the former mumbled, "Love, I think we should also spend some money on the good of the society and earn a sigil. This punk is getting some great perks."
Lily spoke up, "Uncle Elvin, we have three children in the room, please mind your language."
The elders stifled a chuckle as Lily scolded Elvin with a motherly tone. Leo said, "I am going upstairs, I need to handle this. Elvin, stay till lunch, I am cooking today."
Elvin leaned back in the couch and said, "You better not think that you can get rid of me before you have fed me dinner. I came over to slack off today."
The young man nodded and said, "Ummm, how about you start talking to the dealers who have some good cars on their hands? Also talk to people and try to buy those classic sports cars. Like the Wisp, and the Specter."
Elvin nodded and picked up his phone before he said, "I am thinking of buying some classics from all over the world, Jade Country, Eagle Nation and the Swastika Nation, they all have good cars, but their are also some companies who may not seem like big shots but have produced some spectacular vehicles, and some companies involved in restomods as well. Those old cars in the new tech are crazy good."
Leo nodded and replied, "That is all up to you."
Then he climbed up the stairs and went to the study where he directly got in touch with Alpha and said, "Alpha, have the media channels and social media accounts talk about the human rights violation in the Eagle Country. Also, highlight how their military is often present at the root of conflict. Smear them with all the moral shit that you can dig up on the Internet."
Alpha accepted the command and then just when the bot was about to say something, Leo said, "From now on, I will not be going out on hit missions unless the situation is dreadful, have the teams from the Pinnacle Securities manage these things on their own. Markus has the free hand now. However, make sure that you extract as much information as possible from all the targets."
Alpha nodded and that was the end of this conversation, however, shortly after, an unknown number appeared on the caller ID, and Leo knew who it was, his system was advanced and even if the person was covering his tracks it still showed up on his phone. He smiled and picked up the call with a spark of amusement in his eyes.
He said, "Hello."
On the other side a calm and sophisticated voice echoed, "Hello, am I talking to Mister Cardinal?"
Leo replied, "Speaking."
His voice was calm and he didn't seem to care who the other person was, and so the man said, "Greetings, Mister Cardinal, I am Ashley Cole, I am calling you from the embassy of the Eagle Country."
Leo asked, "What do you want, cut to the chase please."
His blunt question was like a shove to the speech that the man on the other side had prepared. However, he was a trained diplomat and didn't lose his composure before he said, "Sir, the situation is that one of the warships of the Eagle Nation has encountered some trouble in the ocean and we were hoping that you could allow them to dock with the port you are leasing."
Leo hummed and then asked, "Is the ship drowning?"
The other side was shocked and then he replied, "No, Mister Cardinal."
Leo nodded and then asked, "Is it a medical situation?"
The answer was still no, and so Leo said, "If that is the case then I am sure that your people are strong enough to duke it out there. The weather has not been kind and some of the anchor ports of the floating island port have become loose and an evacuation is underway as we speak so as much as I want to help you, I apologize, I cannot allow anyone to use the port until things get safe. I believe that the warship can manage to stay anchored and those brave men can completely face this weather, it is just a couple of days of hard sea, no?"
The statement directly shut down every front for the diplomat. The conversation paused and Leo said, "Mister Cole, if you don't have anything else, I would like to go back to my work. Good day."
That was it, and the call was disconnected. Leo then went onto his computer and found that the Eagle Navy fleet was moving towards the port slowly. His gaze turned cold, and then he called for Markus. This call was encrypted, and he asked, "Markus, do you remember I told you that their might be a situation where we might need to collapse the anchors on the floating island?"
Markus was shocked and then he said, "Yes, Sir. Shall we do it now?"
Leo replied, "Airlift all the personnel from the floating island and then handle this. Let the porting columns loose and have them float through the ocean. Make sure that the port is inaccessible these red necked pigs."
Markus chuckled and said, "Sir, that is rather racist of you."
Leo shook his head and said, "It would have been racist had I disrespected anyone, but these people who always try to force things upon the world and think that the world owes them everything, they deserve to be treated like this."
Markus smiled and said, "I understand, it would be done sir."
After the call was disconnected, Leo didn't rest, he could see on the computer that the Eagle Nation was about to denounce his move, and so he took the preemptive measure and directly used the Company account to post the situation of the platform and the loose anchors on the internet, and then he sent the recording to various media channels in the Eagle Country and the world media channels.
The clipping was not cut or edited so the people could not find any fault in it. After an hour, Markus reported that the mission was accomplished and then Leo stood up and left the study. Since he had the guests at home, he had to play the host, as for the flames in the world, it has nothing to do with him, he was rather focused about the heat of his stove.
