Chapter 644 - 668: No Clothes
John Brown said again, "Everyone get ready, exert your strength when I tell you to; for now, keep conserving your energy. Our direction should still be towards that island, let’s save some strength first."
At this moment, everyone looked to John Brown for leadership, and no one voiced any objections. Each one was saving what little strength they had, aiming to swim to the island in one go.
As they watched the island get closer and closer, everyone’s breathing became somewhat labored. John Brown, however, was constantly feeling the direction of the ocean currents. When the current changed direction, he shouted loudly and swam vigorously towards the island.
Sophia quickly followed, now with a rope tied around her waist. The two swam on the left and right ahead, like two strong horses pulling a cart, while Lucy Campbell, Emily Lopez, and Sarah Utah also swam with effort. Although their strength might not withstand the currents, their additional effort could save John Brown a bit of energy.
Here, the current collided with another one, significantly reducing its strength. Otherwise, with the strength they had, it would have been almost impossible for John Brown to lead everyone out of the currents.
Luckily, they were fortunate, encountering both the island and the slowing currents. When John Brown had exhausted almost all his strength, they finally reached the island, which turned out to be a sandy beach. Once on the beach, they had no strength left, each lying there, breathing heavily.
By now, the Sun had completely set, and darkness enveloped the whole space. On this unfamiliar island, John Brown dared not be careless; they hadn’t encountered sharks in the sea, but there was no telling whether they might face any predators on the island.
Regaining a little strength first, John Brown said to the others, "Stay here, don’t wander off. I’ll gather some branches to start a fire."
Emily Lopez and the others wanted to accompany John Brown, but they didn’t even have the strength to sit up, and could only agree.
John Brown walked a short distance into the island and collected some dry branches before returning, as dense woods lay ahead and venturing further wasn’t wise, nor was he willing to leave Emily Lopez and the others alone for too long.
Back on the beach, everyone had already sat up. John Brown’s wilderness survival skills were undeniable, and he quickly started a campfire using the method of fire-by-friction. As soon as the firelight started, everyone cheered, even Sophia couldn’t help but show a rare smile.
However, quickly everyone let out a gasp because with the light, they saw John Brown bare-bottomed, and moreover, he was facing them directly, making everything more visible.
