The Supreme Soldier in the City

Chapter 350 - 357: Go Ask Her

Helen Wilson felt her body sway the moment James Brown left; the pressure the Mysterious Figure exerted on her was just too immense. She had interacted with the Mysterious Figure twice before and felt that he was quite good to her, always helping her, so she didn’t have any real fear of this Mysterious Figure. In fact, she harbored a strange fondness for him.

But this time, during her longest encounter with the Mysterious Figure yet, she truly sensed the pressure emanating from him. It was bearable during their Special Ability Training, but later, when she was negotiating terms with him, she really had to force herself to hold on.

Sitting on the sofa, Helen Wilson was unsure if she should feel relieved or disappointed. In the end, the Mysterious Figure didn’t demand to sleep with her, which was a relief to Helen. However, he also did not agree to protect James Brown, which greatly disappointed her. The youngster might have some Martial Arts Skills, but she feared he wouldn’t be able to protect himself when facing unscrupulous vengeance. This filled Helen with immense concern.

Before, Helen had thought the Mysterious Figure was exactly the type of man she liked, but after becoming involved with James Brown, she felt that the Mysterious Figure was too distant, and James Brown, who usually seemed a bit repulsive, felt much more real to her. That’s why her heart inevitably leaned towards James.

As her thoughts slowly calmed down, Helen suddenly felt something wasn’t quite right. The Mysterious Figure made a special trip to teach her Martial Arts Skills, clearly to help her—his intentions were obviously good-hearted. And yet, he later made such an excessive request. How could this make sense coming from the Mysterious Figure?

"Ah, could he be testing me?" A thought suddenly struck Helen, growing more persistent by the second. The Mysterious Figure was so powerful, he could easily have any woman he wanted. Why would he go out of his way to threaten her?

With this thought, Helen suddenly grew excited. She firmly believed that since she had requested the Mysterious Figure to protect James Brown, he would certainly help. If it weren’t for her own parents, she would really begin to wonder if she had some special heritage that meant the Mysterious Figure was sent to protect her.

Of course, James Brown would never use the identity of the Mysterious Figure to claim Helen Wilson’s body. After she said that to him, he laughed loud and clear, and then quickly left Helen’s home. Feeling guilty about the joke, he thought he had no face to appear before Helen again as this Mysterious Figure.

Unless there was no other way, James Brown did not want to continue using that identity to help Helen.

Not long after he left, his phone rang with a call from Helen. James casually answered with a laugh, "What’s up? Missing me that much to call me so late at night?"

Helen snorted at James Brown, but she was in a good mood and said, "I do miss you. Come over."
