Chapter 127: Hacked
Sarah Utah had no idea what Helen Wilson was thinking; she was utterly stunned at the moment, hardly daring to believe her own eyes. She supposed there would be a sense of loss if she saw James Brown with any woman, but she would not be so surprised. However, the woman with James Brown right now was unmistakably Gina Lopez, the CEO of the company.
In the eyes of the company’s employees, Gina Lopez was the epitome of a strict CEO—usually undemonstrative and decisive, known as the Iron Lady. But the Gina Lopez at this moment was all smiles and playfully adorable, a complete transformation from the CEO everyone knew at the company.
Sarah even doubted if she had mistaken someone else for her, but then Gina Lopez turned her head around, and Sarah confirmed that she was not mistaken.
"My God, Big Brother Brown’s girlfriend is actually CEO Gina Lopez," Sarah was utterly shocked.
But soon, she remembered some things within the company. James Brown had joined the company through Gina Lopez, boldly offending Douglas Smith, who had the backing of the head office. Moreover, James was now Gina’s personal driver—a role she had never required before.
All this could prove the relationship between James Brown and Gina Lopez. As for James saying his girlfriend was a university student, that might be because he did not want to expose their romance, or perhaps to spare her dignity. If he said his girlfriend was CEO Gina Lopez, Sarah would indeed be devastated.
Now, Sarah was deeply stricken. If his girlfriend was a university student, Sarah might still harbor a glimmer of hope—perhaps one day, James would like her, choose her. But now that it was CEO Gina Lopez, she dared not entertain any thoughts at all.
"Don’t be silly. Seeing his true colors now is a good thing," Helen Wilson gently nudged Sarah and comforted her.
Sarah forced a smile and said, "Don’t worry, Helen, I’ve thought it through. If Big Brother Brown doesn’t fancy me, and he’s with her instead, I really have no other thoughts."
Helen nodded and asked, "By the way, do you know that woman?"
Without thinking, Sarah blurted out, "She is our company’s CEO."
