Chapter 84: Strength
Six people exited the vehicle, mostly young men in their twenties, with one man in his forties. All five youths, brimming with arrogance and reeking of alcohol, looked fiercely at James Brown upon hearing Little Missy’s words.
When Emma Campbell saw these six people, her body went limp. There were six of them, and they looked ferocious. James Brown was just one person. How could he possibly defeat all six? She felt incredibly frustrated.
Big Brother Brown, although formidable, had police friends to help him. Now, without those friends, if they started a fight, James Brown was definitely going to suffer. Even if his police friends came to help afterward, he would still be in trouble at the moment.
As she internally berated herself, Emma felt a gentle pat on her shoulder, looked up, and saw James Brown’s confident gaze and gentle smile, which instantly dispelled her fear once again. She didn’t know why, but she believed James would handle the situation.
"Damn, you’ve got some nerve touching my people—it’s like you’ve got the guts of a bear and the heart of a leopard," said the tallest and largest of the young men, who snorted coldly and walked up to James Brown.
Facing Brother Bob’s gaze, James said coldly, "And you are...?"
"What the f***!" Brother Bob, who had been highly influential over the past two years, wasn’t someone to be trifled with by ordinary thugs in YODC City. However, James Brown, who appeared ordinary, was utterly disregarded by him. Now, towards such an audacious statement from James, he couldn’t contain his anger and cursed, raising his hand to strike James’s face.
"Get lost!" James kicked out, sending Brother Bob’s hefty body of over 200 pounds flying straight into Emily Johnson and Little Missy, knocking both girls to the ground and causing them to cry out in pain.
The oldest among the six, John Smith, immediately grinned. He was the one who had deceived Emma Campbell’s father out of money and had been beaten by James Brown before. Because it was night during his last encounter at his home, he hadn’t remembered James’s face clearly. But now, seeing James kicking Brother Bob away with ease, he knew he hadn’t been mistaken and quickly shouted, "Misunderstanding, it’s all a misunderstanding!"
The other thugs, initially ready to fight, stopped in their tracks, and by then, James had recognized John Smith. Snorting, he said, "Long time no see."
John Smith, feeling uneasy under James’s stare, quickly plastered on a smile and said, "Big Brother, this matter is a misunderstanding, don’t be angry."
