Chapter 61: Rory?
David quickly followed them. "Guys, I didn’t bring my car. Can I ride with you, Josh?"
"What? No! You can take a taxi. They are plenty, and they would be glad to have taken you everywhere," Josh replied sharply as he opened the car door for Aurora.
Josh remained annoyed at David. If it weren’t for Aurora, he would have punched David, even though David was his boss’s cousin.
"Hell! Josh, how could you ask me to take a taxi? What if someone kidnaps me?" David asked innocently.
When he saw that Josh was ignoring him, he turned to Aurora. "Rory, can you please let me follow your car?" he pleaded.
Aurora felt her emotions swirl when she heard David’s words. This was the first time someone had called her "Rory" since her rebirth; not even Tina, her nanny, had used that name.
Her hand clenched tightly as she struggled to remain calm. She ignored David and pretended not to recognize that name.
"Oops, sorry, I meant Aurora..." David quickly corrected himself, realizing he had received no response. Aurora felt relieved but still halted herself from responding. "Please, Aurora. Can I follow your car?" he asked again.
While waiting for Aurora to enter the car, Josh was shocked to hear David call her "Rory."
Instantly, something jolted in his heart, and memories of his most admirable best friend, Aurora Moon, flooded his mind. For a few seconds, he found himself wishing and imagining that his lady boss was Rory.
However, as he looked at Aurora when she was ignoring David’s call, he dismissed the thought, considered it a pity, and could only laugh amusedly at himself.
