Chapter 668: Country K
The company’s reputation had already reached terrifying heights.
Many actors, directors, producers, and investors now looked toward her Studio with admiration.
Therefore, the moment Aurora publicly announced Owen’s blacklist, not a single company dared oppose her.
Within a single day, Owen had become completely isolated.
He was so overwhelmed by despair that countless dark thoughts crossed his mind.
Several times...he even considered ending his own life.
However, when he truly stood at the edge of making that decision, fear overwhelmed him.
He simply didn’t possess the courage.
Eventually, he could only sit alone inside his empty apartment, covering his face as tears streamed down his cheeks.
For the first time in his life, he genuinely regretted provoking Jonah.
.................
Meanwhile, Jonah leisurely returned home.
The familiar warmth of the house instantly eased his tense nerves.
He greeted his mother and younger sister with a smile before quietly making an excuse and returning to his bedroom.
After closing the door behind him, he slowly lay down on the bed.
He quietly stared at the white ceiling.
Then, he closed his eyes.
Unfortunately, the moment darkness surrounded him, those horrible memories once again crawled back into his mind.
The frightened version of himself. The luxurious hotel rooms. The disgusting smiles.
Each memory replayed with painful clarity. His breathing gradually became uneven.
His fingers unconsciously clenched the bedsheets.
Just as he felt his chest tightening, his phone suddenly began ringing. Jonah froze.
Slowly opening his eyes, he turned toward the bedside table.
The moment he saw the caller’s name, his expression instantly brightened. "Ms. Dawn."
Without wasting another second, he answered the call.
Aurora’s calm voice immediately came from the other side. "I’ve already dealt with Owen."
The moment Jonah heard those words, he slowly closed his eyes.
The tension throughout his body quietly disappeared.
Somehow, he already knew what she was going to say next.
And just hearing those words would be enough to reassure him.
Sure enough, Aurora continued.
"As for every piece of evidence he claimed to possess...they’ve all been destroyed. There isn’t even a second copy left. So don’t worry. No one will ever discover your past."
Hearing that, Jonah finally let out a long breath. It felt as though a massive boulder had been lifted from his heart.
His entire body relaxed. "Thank you..."
His voice became unusually soft. "Ms. Dawn... I honestly don’t know how I’ll ever repay you."
A gentle laugh came from the other side of the phone.
Then Aurora suddenly asked, "You truly aren’t jealous of Theodore?"
Jonah looked toward the large bedroom window.
Outside, the afternoon sunlight painted the sky in brilliant shades of gold while a gentle breeze rustled the leaves of nearby trees.
A peaceful smile slowly appeared on his face.
"Ms. Dawn, you may not believe me. But it’s the truth."
He spoke sincerely.
"For someone like me, who struggled for years, who has experienced the darkest moments imaginable, being able to sit where I am today already feels like a miracle."
He smiled softly.
"Perhaps I’m a little greedy, but I’m not greedy enough to forget the kindness I’ve received."
Taking a deep breath, he continued,
"I know very well why I was able to reach this position. It’s because of Theodore."
Aurora raised an eyebrow. She remained silent, allowing him to continue.
"I’ve noticed something. You’ve never made it obvious, but you clearly have a soft spot for Theodore."
He chuckled lightly.
"Perhaps he’s your relative. Perhaps you established this entire company just for him. Yet despite that, you still chose to help me."
He lowered his voice.
"I’ve always believed, you only extended your kindness to me because Theodore and I have always been close friends, and because I once helped him."
He smiled gratefully. "So, I’m thankful. And no, I’m truly not greedy."
Aurora couldn’t help chuckling. "It seems, you’re much smarter than I expected."
She paused briefly before asking another question.
"Tell me. What if you never become the movie emperor of this country? Have you ever considered changing your focus?"
Jonah blinked in surprise. There was a brief silence. Then he cautiously asked, "You mean...?"
Aurora smiled. "There are many entertainment industries throughout the world."
Her voice remained calm and confident.
"If you shift your career to Country K... I believe you’ll fit their drama industry exceptionally well. Your appearance, temperament, and acting style are all extremely suitable for that market."
The moment those words entered Jonah’s ears... his heart began pounding violently.
It felt as though every drop of blood in his body had suddenly started boiling with excitement.
His breathing unconsciously quickened. After taking several deep breaths to calm himself, he carefully asked,
"So, Ms. Dawn, are you saying...?"
Aurora laughed softly.
"That’s right. I’m already planning to expand the studio into overseas markets. And for Country K, I’ve decided that you’ll become my chief representative."
For a long moment, Jonah simply sat there in complete silence.
His hands trembled slightly as he tightly gripped the phone.
His eyes gradually turned red.
Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined that the woman who had completely changed his destiny would entrust him with such an enormous responsibility.
At that moment, he silently made a vow in his heart.
’No matter what happens... I will never betray Ms. Dawn. Even if I have to stake my entire life on it, I won’t let her down.’
Without the slightest hesitation, he straightened his posture and replied seriously,
"I gladly accept this responsibility. I won’t disappoint you."
Aurora smiled faintly. "Good."
Then she chuckled softly. "Instead of rushing to thank me, why don’t you put that gratitude into your work?"
Jonah laughed. "Don’t worry, Ms. Dawn, I definitely will."
His voice was filled with confidence. That single opportunity completely changed the direction of his life.
After entering Country K’s entertainment industry, Jonah worked almost obsessively. He attended acting lessons during the day.
Practiced the local language late into the night. Studied countless classic dramas. Improved his singing, dancing, and public speaking.
His relentless effort eventually paid off. Within just a few years, he successfully established himself in Country K.
Although Theodore remained the more popular actor overall, Jonah never felt jealous.
Instead, he felt grateful. He had earned the love of an entirely different country. His popularity spread far beyond national borders.
Movie after movie became massive hits. Endorsements poured in endlessly. His net worth doubled several times over.
Money was no longer something he ever needed to worry about.
Even several generations of his future family would be able to live comfortably because of the foundation he had built.
Whenever he looked back on his journey, Jonah often smiled to himself.
’Thank goodness, I chose the right words that day. Remaining loyal to Ms. Dawn was the greatest decision of my life.’
After hanging up the phone, Aurora stretched lazily before walking toward the living room. The moment she stepped inside, she noticed Olivia curled up on the sofa.
Olivia was clutching her stomach tightly while repeatedly rolling from one side to the other.
Aurora immediately frowned. "What happened?"
Olivia weakly raised one hand. "Period cramps..."
She let out a miserable groan. "They hurt so much..."
Aurora immediately understood. Without wasting another second, she hurried into the kitchen.
Soon, the faint aroma of brown sugar and ginger filled the room. After carefully preparing a warm cup of brown sugar water, she returned to the living room.
"Here. Drink this while it’s still warm."
Olivia accepted the cup with both hands.
She smiled weakly. "My little sister has really grown up."
Aurora merely rolled her eyes. She quietly watched until Olivia had finished drinking almost the entire cup.
Then she softly reminded her,
"I’ve told you countless times. You should stop eating so many cold desserts and iced drinks. They’re not good for your body."
Olivia laughed helplessly. "Yes... Yes... My little doctor. I’ll remember next time."
She leaned comfortably against the sofa once again. Seeing that Olivia looked slightly better, Aurora didn’t continue lecturing her.
Instead, she quietly returned to her room.
...
That evening... Aurora had barely stepped outside her bedroom when she noticed two familiar figures standing in the living room.
Alex and Adeline. Both of them wore unusually serious expressions.
Aurora slowly walked over. The moment Alex and Adeline noticed her, they both forced smiles onto their faces.
Aurora narrowed her eyes. "What happened? You both look really tense."
Alex immediately waved his hand. "It’s nothing. We just came to confirm something with Mom."
Aurora blinked. "Oh? Then why don’t you tell me first?"
She looked suspiciously at the two of them.
Ever since she had revealed her true identity to Adeline... Aurora had already guessed that Alex must have discovered it as well.
Yet strangely... Neither Alex nor the others had ever confronted her about it.
Instead... All of her siblings continued pretending as though nothing had happened.
’They obviously know everything. Then why are they still acting? Exactly what are they hiding?’
