Chapter 85 - Seventy-Two
LEO
"What are you talking about, Tina?" Every muscle in my body instantly tenses up and twists into a knot. Erwin notices the sudden change in my expression and leans in to listen to our conversation. "Jessie is there? Please clearly explain." I ask urgently and signal Erwin to pull toward home.
Erwin nods and starts the engine.
"S-She is outside the manor, wrecking havoc. The guards are trying to hold her off but she is accompanied by some men." Tina’s voice shakes even more violently. "I don’t think they will be able to hold her off for too long. C-Could you please come?"
"I am on my way there," I state. "Just hold on a little more and lock the doors and window. Don’t go in front of him until I get there, understood?" I instruct eagerly.
"Yes." Tina sniffles, as if trying to hold back her tears. She sounds so fragile and stiff that it makes my chest squeeze with sympathy. I hang up the call.
"What happened?" Erwin asks, his face unusually contoured with seriousness as he drives toward the manor smoothly, his eyes never leaving the road.
"Jessie is there," I state as I clench my fist to regulate my breathing, tension is knotting every nerve of my body and preventing my body from functioning correctly. "She is making rucks there."
Erwin’s grip on the steering wheel tightens even further, "What do you mean she is making rucks? Is she trying to barge into the house?"
I nod frantically, my jaw clenching so tightly that I am afraid that I might break it.
"Don’t worry," Erwin assures, his hand darts out and squeezes my thigh reassuringly, "we will be there in a minute. They will be fine, trust me."
