Chapter 322: Ending the game
"Lucius, I just received an important information. Vladimir is fleeing Russia. He’s en route to a private helipad," Varya reported, her voice firm as she relayed the information from her trusted aide.
Lucius’s jaw tightened. "Then we don’t have time to waste." He adjusted the twin guns holstered at his waist.
"There’s one issue," Varya continued. "The helipad is deep inside a dense forest. If a fight breaks out, visibility and movement will be limited. It won’t be easy."
Lucius pulled the black glove snugly over his left hand. "Noted. We stick to the plan. You and Roger will cover from behind. Luca and I will take the lead."
Without another word, they strode out of the mansion. Outside, a convoy of black SUVs stood waiting, engines rumbling in anticipation. Without hesitation, they climbed in, and the moment the doors shut, the drivers started the engines. One by one, the vehicles peeled out onto the road, racing toward the helipad to intercept Vladimir before he could escape.
"Move fast," Varya instructed the driver as she looked at the location of Vladimir in her device. "Lucius, we have been after Vladimir for a long time. How did you manage to leave a tracking device there?" she asked, looking quite impressed.
"Well, I’ve been in this business for a long time," Lucius explained in a calm tone. "I didn’t want to take any chances, so I left a device, which my friend created, in Vladimir’s car. It allows access to locations not visible on regular maps."
"And how did you know it was Vladimir’s car?" Varya inquired.
"During the time I left with Aiden, I saw two men discussing about taking Vladimir out in the car. I cleverly planted the device in the car when they weren’t looking at me," Lucius asserted.
