Chapter 296: Departed to Russia (1)
Layla stepped out of the washroom, after washing her face, and saw both Roderick and Demitri in the room.
"Are you fine? You acted weird in the living room," Roderick asked with worry.
"Yeah, I am fine," Layla replied.
"You are already stressing yourself out. Should I call Uncle back?" Roderick inquired.
"Don’t call him when he’s gone for such an important mission," Layla said sternly and walked out of the room.
"Aren’t you a friend to my uncle? Did you not stop Uncle from not going to Russia?" Roderick asked. "The police should be involved in this, no? You should at least think like a sane man."
"Rick, the police can’t do anything about this. Aiden’s life will get in danger if Lucius doesn’t reach Russia," Demitri said, not revealing much. "Let’s go out. Zayne should be here any time," with that, he left first.
"I don’t get why Uncle has to risk his own life for the others," he murmured and took out the phone from his pocket. He dialed Lucius’s number and waited for him to answer the call.
"Yes, Rick?" Lucius answered the call right away.
"Uncle, I came to see you in the mansion and found out that Aiden got kidnapped. Are you not going to take the help of the police?" He wanted Lucius to change his mind and not go to Russia unprepared.
"I am not," Lucius replied. "It’s surprising to see that you are concerned for me. Seems like we have truly gotten closer," he said and Roderick felt his uncle must be smiling behind that call.
