Under the vampire Lord's protection

Chapter 209: The true purpose

When the sun came out again, Arabella awoke to the realization that Silas’ arms were still wrapped around her.

The sole Developpement since the previous night being that he had rested his chin on her shoulder instead of her head.

The vampire immediately figured out she was no longer sleeping upon sensing the sudden stiffness that had consumed her entire body.

"Morning," the whisper caressed her ear, only emboldening the rigidity that locked her in place.

"Good morning to you as well," she blurted a little too quickly.

The warmth he provided was beyond tempting, sucking the determination to stand up and free herself from his hold.

Not only that, but she also wondered how he’d interpret that initiative. Would he be offended?

Silas did confide in her that he wished she’d be more comfortable expressing her thoughts and needs around him, but what did that encompass? How far did it exactly extend before his patience stretched too thin to handle it.

Although, truthfully, the first thing on her mind upon opening her eyes had been to wonder whether he’d indulged any of his... Needs with her at all while she slept.

Her hardened muscles relaxed a tad as a wave of relief washed over her when concluding he’d kept his hands to himself. Well, more or less since he still clung to her as though the cure to all ailments lay in her hands alone.

Quite ironic, considering his blood held the key to that as well.
