Chapter 122: The Black Werewolf
"So, you’re saying that you tamed not one, but two Epic grade artifacts? You do know that it will be difficult for us to wear Epic grade artifacts due to our rank, right? Aren’t you a beast tamer?"
Kaiju couldn’t keep up with Griffin’s endless questions. The questions were not entirely connected to each other.
However, he was patient when it came to his Teacher.
"Teacher, at first, I was in trouble when I wore the Ring of The Eternal Night. I was blessed with lady luck as I was able to max out my mana points, enabling it to tame the overwhelming mana of the artifact.
Then, after careful consideration of my greediness, I tried to wear the Nocturne Veil, and, as expected, I was able to wear it without problem, as well. The main reason for that, aside from maxing my mana points, was my compatibility with the element of the artifact–the shadow mana.
This also provides us the idea that Vladislaus not only is able to manipulate blood like any vampires do, he also has affinity with the shadow element–only nobles in the vampire race could have double elemental affinity."
Griffin pondered with a serene expression. However, his emotion was in turmoil, his ego was crushed. My pupil is stronger than me now? Damn it. So, he’s telling me he maxed out his mana points? How?! Furthermore, the way he moved, he is fast, he also seems to carry a heavy weight. Does this mean, he maxed out all of his attribute points? How is that possible?!
After all, it took them more than a year, two years in fact, to max out their attribute points. They already have Legendary Class like Kaiju and now, the latter surpassed them in a year? Furthermore, Kaiju was so lucky to be chosen by two Epic grade artifacts, at that. He obviously was stronger than any creatures in the Trial, except the person Kaiju feared.
Griffin wanted to find out Kaiju’s secret so badly, but he restrained himself. If I know too much, I might lose control of myself due to greediness and envy. I must keep my dignity. If he is stronger than me now, so be it. I was stronger than him before he became stronger than me, who said I will not be able to achieve what he did?
Griffin finally settled his chaotic thoughts and focused on Vladislaus’ matter. He glanced at Vladislaus’ coffin and could barely handle the aura it was emitting. If it was not for the wind disrupting the thick aura with extreme oppressive effects, he might have felt suffocated and left already.
I can’t defeat that monster alone. Griffin was aware of his limits, but, like any human carrying a pride, he wanted to break it and reach higher heights. He desired, not only to become strong, but to be stronger than any creatures he met.
