Chapter 108: The Angel’s Dilemma
During the battle of the humans against the higher races, there were only two races that were not present. Angels and Nephilim... In fact, the latter had not shown their appearance ever since they appeared in the Trial yet. It vexed the angels. Supposedly, Nephilim should have long ceased in the Tower.
As much as they wanted to observe Faith, who they had been in contact with due to her background, they were anxiously searching for the Nephilim.
A four-winged angel holding a thick book, radiating a golden glow, faced his fellow four-winged angel with the similar book on his grasp and asked, "Joshua, how can we not still find that Nephilim? Also, I thought the Nephilim had been purged in the Tower three years ago?"
Joshua entered the Hellish Trial two years ago and shared the information with his fellow angels, who only knew about the ongoing-war against the nephilim race. They were joyful from his information, but, as soon as a year passed, he was punished when the Trial announced the participation of the Nephilim, bringing a wave of shock, even to the other higher races, who were aware of the great war.
Joshua was anxious as well, and he said with an angelic, manly tone, "Chayliel, even I don’t know why it is the case. Perhaps, a lost child of the Nephilim managed to escape by entering the Trial?"
Chayliel shook his head and sighed. "How long will you continue supporting that ridiculous idea Joshua? It might be possible, but do you think a single nephilim, as soon as our race declared victory, manage to survive for a year and even participate in the Trial? Surely, they are already plotting their revenge."
Joshua was silent, not knowing what to say. Another four-winged angel carrying the same book intervened. For some reason, their voices were heavenly and divine, pleasing to the ears.
"We will never know. That’s why the most important thing is to get rid of that nephilim. Since it has been hiding from us for over a year, it showed that it was alone and it could not fight against us, so it was trying to find the opportunity to take us all for once."
Chayliel snorted. "Don’t be delusional, Cahethal. There’s no way it will be able to get rid of us. We are under the protection of Razael, a six-winged angel, Cahethal. Six-winged! That is equivalent to the Overlord rank–hierarchy set by the Towers!"
Cahethal’s eyes lit up.
"Is the rumor true?"
