Chapter 78: Violet Infernal
Bune was tasked to keep watch about an Overlord beast’s movement. Although it was a suicidal task, he accepted it gladly. Bune was confident to survive from the Overlord beast’s attack, simply because his flame was colored violet, more potent compared to red and blue flame. Only White and Black flame could overpowered it.
Furthermore, Bune has the bloodline of his foreparent, an Ancient rank monster. Bune was talented among the violet infernals, too. With all that reason, even he deluded himself that the Overlord beast should have feared him.
Ironically, he avoided fighting even the Corrupted rank under Herforao, simply not wanting to alarm the latter, even though Herforo was already aware of Bune’s presence. Since Bune did not attack, Herforao let him be. Bune just badly wanted to deny he was terrified of Herforao.
One night, Bune suddenly encountered Kaiju, a low-class human, and observed him from a distance. He even grinned when Kaiju stumbled upon Herforao’s territory and amusedly believed Kaiju was about to receive his retributions for intruding.
However, his imagination was shattered when he saw the Corrupted rank serpent under Herforao excitedly meeting Kaiju and even invited him inside Herforao’s territory. He wanted to follow badly, but his intuition was screaming in danger. He was vexed.
How could a low-class human enter that Overlord’s territory? It even appears that Overlord wants to meet him, too. What is so special about him? Bune spent an hour wracking his brains.
Suddenly, the violet flame dancing atop his head, acting like his hair, exploded forth, seemingly realizing something. Is it because of that white serpent on his shoulder? Why is there a gorilla, too? What was that human? Can he tame beasts? The wisps of violet flame, floating inside his sockets, intensified. Did he perhaps already tame that Overlord? How is that possible? If that is the case, then he is badly dangerous!
He instantly forgot his judgement of Kaiju being a low-class human after landing a terrifying conclusion. He was now conflicted. Should I report this to the leader, or not? After hesitating for another hour, he decided to see and wait. There is no way a mere human can tame an Overlord beast. There might be some other reason.
At the same time, Bune sensed another presence and his innate being screamed in repulsion. Bune turned his head in a particular direction, where light was radiating, and his lips curled in disgust. He tried his best to ignore it since it was acting the same. Is he curious about that human, too?

Infernals? Kaiju was alarmed. He instantly recalled about the Infernal he met six months ago and knew they were not the same. The Infernal in front of him was emitting a violet flame, obviously many times stronger. Kaiju heightened his guard as he said, "What is it?"
Bune’s ghastly face turned ugly. He said, "Who are you?" His voice was brimming with arrogance.
