Bai Lian was on the verge of reaching her limit. Aside from her determination, all she had left holding her up was her internal energy. She had only learnt three palm techniques from Daoist Wushan.
The chilly, straight-forward “Glamorous Aerial Greenfrost” was designed for dismantling.
“Clearfrost Eternal Door” was designed for clinching scenarios.
“Infinite Palace” was an all-out technique.
All three techniques utilised purely cold internal energy as their foundation, so their potency was based on internal energy potency, so Bai Lian’s execution was far less lethal compared to Daoist Wushan. Having said that, she did learn her internal discipline from him, which should have been impressive.
Perhaps owing to its complexity, not even Daoist Wushan himself mastered said internal discipline. Every time he trained Bai Lian, he left her with bizarre text. They were tongue twisters, yet he did not even bother explaining the meaning, demanding she figure it out herself. Fortunately, she had the patience to study, resulting in her development of yin internal energy. Only once she learnt it did Daoist Wushan actually name the discipline, but the name “Suspended Moon” frankly sounded like a spur-of-the-moment idea. For her to still be alive and healthy, she easily qualified as gifted. She was able to befriend Ming Feizhen as she shared a similar experience to his childhood.
At her current level, Bai Lian was able to not only inflict damage without direct contact with her palm strikes, but she was also able to imbue them with her frosty energy. Once an opponent was exposed to it for an extensive period, their combat abilities would be compromised. For some reason, her current opponent did not show any signs of being impacted.
He maintained a safe distance from Bai Lian instead of risking getting too close, which reduced the force of her strikes since they had to travel farther, using his sword as an obstruction and retreating when she advanced too close. Despite her development, it was hard for Bai Lian to maintain output over a long distance and over dozens of strikes. The only reason the match had yet to end was because he had yet to counter.
The only time he swung was to disable Bai Lian’s strikes, refusing to engage in any endeavour that would change the flow or avenging Langya for the sneak attack. It was as if he was trying to spar with her as opposed to fight.
