Absolute Resonance

There was a boundless ocean of inky liquid, shrouded by a frigid mist. The deep water gave a looming sense of fear to anyone who dared peer into its depths, as if there were unspeakable horrors awaiting beneath the surface.

All of a sudden, the silent ocean churned and the mist rose from the surface, filling up the skies.

As the black mist surged, a massive island with countless white lanterns breached the water and floated slowly on the water.

Four gigantic black lotuses then surfaced from the depths. Space distorted violently within the center of each lotus, then four figures emitting overwhelming pressure materialized. They quietly stood atop the black lotuses, all covered in the black and sticky mist. The mist then rippled, with four pairs of eyes as dark as the abyss opening up. At that moment, the energy in the world around them seemed to freeze.

"Emptiness Heavenly Emperor, your actions have caused an overly large disturbance," one of them said in a low voice.

As the vast energy condensed atop the black lotus, it took the shape of a titanic figure that resembled a pitch-black python whose length was indescribable. The giant python's eyes were dark and countless faces seemed to appear and vanish within them, time and time again.

A familiar voice belonging to the Emptiness Heavenly Emperor rang out next. "Viper Heavenly Emperor, there's no need for such harsh words. Do you think that pilfering a Divine Fruit from underneath the Academic Federation's nose was easy? I had to use up many of my cards to temporarily restrain the Heavenly Emperors from the Academic Federation. I believe that they will take action against us in the near future."

Space warped on another black lotus, revealing a terrifying object. It resembled a beehive, but it extended across thousands of miles and billions of strange insect cries roared from inside it. Life and death auras lingered around it.

The Emptiness Heavenly Emperor stared at the hive. The one who spoke next was another Heavenly Emperor, the Gu Heavenly Emperor. "The fact that you retrieved the Divine Fruit means that our plan has succeeded. There's no need to speak of other things." At this point, a calm and indifferent voice sounded out and when this person spoke, all of the other three, including the Emptiness Heavenly Emperor immediately stopped chattering as they cast their eyes towards the figure.

A powerful force surged in the centremost black lotus, but there was no human figure present. Instead, only a mottled and broken mask floated in the air. White flames flickered in the place where eyes would be on the mask. There was a crack in the spot between where the eyebrows of the mask would be, and the outline of a mysterious fruit could be seen behind it, beating slowly like a heart and releasing horrifying fluctuations.
