Chapter 44: Only Intention
The ethereal touch of Sylha’s hand hovered before Eren like an invitation — but there was no touch, no force. Only intention. A promise of ancient knowledge.
Eren did not move. The glow enveloping the spectral figure pulsed gently, as if breathing in sync with the curse around. His cold gaze analyzed every nuance — the way she spoke without moving her lips, the way her presence seemed to distort the space around her.
""Do you still hesitate?" said Sylha."
"I don’t like tricks — Eren replied."
She let out a hysterical laugh.
Eren frowned. He felt a pulse beneath his feet — as if something under the temple reacted to the conversation. Sylha was not just a messenger. She was the place. Or something within it.
"Who were you?"
The mist around her trembled. And for a moment, the answer came in a whisper laden with echoes.
""The first.""
The ground shook.
Eren stepped back, his breathing still controlled, but his fingers tense.
"First of what?"
