Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Chapter 271: Class S

Leonard directed all his mana to the tip of his finger.

The action was equivalent to reloading a bullet and filling it with gunpowder.

He was never proficient with swords or close combat, so this was his way to alternate his combat style.

A bow and arrow was simply too slow and inefficient. He’d much rather use a firearm as his main source of combat.

’Here goes nothing.’ He had done it once in the market, so now was his second time testing the power without holding anything back.

The tip of his finger illuminated, and a powerful force was emitted.

BAM!

A loud, resonating sound echoed through the stadium, and the crowd had to cover their ears momentarily.

"Pfft, that was it?"

"And here I thought he was going to do the same thing."

"All loud and proud for naught."

The crowd gossiped among themselves when they saw the dummy still standing tall.

Since the dummy was stationed in a vertical line from their peripheral vision, they failed to notice what was in the abdomen state.

They were blocked from seeing the truth, except for the Professor, who nearly soaked his pants.

His face was pale when he witnessed the damage.

"W-What kind of spell is that?" The Professor staggered and fell to his chair. His pupils were constricted from the unbelievable sight.

What should have been the abdomen of the dummy was completely hollowed out.

THUD!

Soon, the dummy crashed to the ground, and the crowd also noticed the large hole in its abdomen.

The dummy’s durability wasn’t unknown to the rest. Even high-ranked mages needed to pour in lots of effort to penetrate the dummy in a single area without affecting the other parts.

Yet they had just witnessed a student accomplish such a feat without using any high-ranked spells.

To call it a miracle was underwhelming.

"He really knows how to make me win." Eleanor mused. Her lips curled up into a proud smile.

She had told him to display a shocking scene if he intended for her to win, and he accomplished it spectacularly.

"Hmm, it seems like I still need more practice." Leonard furrowed his brows and said.

’Eleanor was able to blast the dummy into smithereens, but all I did was make a large hole. I still have a long way to go.’ He remained unaware that his feat was much harder to pull off as opposed to Eleanor’s test.

’I’m going to go insane.’ The Professor who overheard his evaluation nearly cried aloud in agony.

If such a move was considered inadequate and required more practice, then what had he been doing his entire life?

"Y-You’ve passed the evaluation! You will be assigned to Class S," The Professor hurriedly said and begged him to leave the stage already.

Leonard nodded and gradually stepped down from the stage. He returned to Eleanor’s side and ignored the crowd’s eyes.

"Looks like I also got into Class S," He calmly said.

"If that performance isn’t considered Class S, then no one can be in there." Eleanor mused.

"Everyone’s now looking at you and not me."

"Are you sure?"

Leonard glanced around and shook his head. "Nope, they’re definitely looking at you instead. What’s there to look at me anyway? I don’t have any facial value compared to your beauty."

"Hoh, is that a compliment?" Eleanor suddenly blushed and grinned. "Say it again, please. My ears weren’t working earlier. Who is a beauty?"

"..."

Once again, Leonard was rendered speechless. He could never anticipate what was going on in Eleanor’s mind.

One moment she was serious, but the very next moment, she was a teasing master.

Moreover, her words and actions were getting cryptic. It was as if she had a lot of things to say, but ultimately chose to keep quiet.

’Forget it, too much overthinking will hurt the head.’ Leonard knitted his brows and pushed the wheelchair. There was no need to remain in the scene any longer once the aptitude test was completed.

Many chose to stay because they wished to witness the other students, but there was no need for him to do that.

Once everyone completed their test, he would receive the summarized information from his people.

That was the benefit of being born with a diamond spoon.

Some might have called it unfair, but it was something out of his control. It would be foolish not to use the advantage of his birth status to its maximum potential.

"Are you bringing me to your room to do bad stuff?" Eleanor asked sweetly.

"I don’t even know what room I’m assigned to." Leonard rolled his eyes.

"Ah, so you’re going to enter some random room to do bad things to me? How exciting is that?" She clasped her hands in delight.

Leonard clenched his fist tightly.

He hastened his pace and found an empty room to enter.

Shortly afterward, he closed the door and locked it.

"Oh my, how aggressive." Eleanor gasped and covered her mouth lightly.

"Please be gentle... It’s my first time." She said softly.

"Enough with the joke!" Leonard hissed coldly. His eyes were stern as he glared at her with a wary expression.

"Just what is your intention, and how did you know exactly where I was?"

Upon hearing his fierce tone, Eleanor remained unfazed.

"Is this how you usually demand an answer from someone?" She tilted her head and asked. "If so, then you need to study more. To receive an answer, you need to make the other party benefit."

"What do you seek then?"

Eleanor didn’t say anything but pointed at her lips.

"You want a kiss?" Leonard raised an eyebrow and was alarmed by her demand.

"Can you stop thinking dirty, Leon?" She chuckled heartily. "My lips are a bit dry, so give me a cup of water to hydrate myself."

Sometime later, Leonard brought her a cup of water.

After Eleanor drank a few mouthfuls, she smiled lovingly at him. "To answer your first question. My intention is quite obvious. I’m interested in you, so I obviously hope for the best in you."
