The testing dummy that measured how much firepower a student had exploded on the spot. Its material scattered everywhere.
The platform was nearly destroyed by the attack if it wasn’t for the defensive formation.
Almost every student was stupefied on the spot as they never imagined a testing dummy for the aptitude test could be destroyed by a student.
’Was she always this strong?’ Leonard was baffled by the attack. It seemed a bit too much for a mere aptitude test.
"Whoops, I overdid it a little." Eleanor stuck her tongue out playfully. She smiled at Leonard with an innocent face.
But the students who had openly talked badly about her felt a cold chill in their backs.
The one who brought up the word crippled nearly fainted on the spot.
If that was a crippled, then what was he?
A useless waste that shouldn’t even exist?
"S grade..." The Professor finally evaluated the grade and praised her firepower.
"The combination of the three elements to trigger an implosion within the dummy is impressive. It’s near flawless." They continued, commenting on the usage of magic that triggered such a result.
He wasn’t a Professor for nothing. If such a move they couldn’t even detect, they might as well retire and go back to farming.
"Thank you, Professor." Eleanor smiled politely. She then glanced at the rest of the crowd, who either hurriedly lowered their head or avoided eye contact.
They weren’t blind or foolish!
If this kind of firepower was considered crippled, then what were they?
Someone who was worse than a cripple?
If such news were to spread, they were positive that their family would disown them in a heartbeat. As for those who didn’t belong to influential families, they might be expelled for inadequacy.
Eleanor ignored their pathetic reactions. Instead, she turned to the dazed Leonard and asked. "My assistance, care to help me down?"
Leonard snapped out of his daze and smiled awkwardly.
"Very well." He uttered and assisted her down the stairs. The students were clever this time to move aside so they had clear access.
"Okay, this should be good enough," Eleanor said.
"I don’t want to be too far away from the stage."
"Does it even matter? You can’t even see."
"..."
The nearby students hissed in astonishment. Some even gasped for air and retreated to a great distance.
"He did not just say that, right?"
"I admire his courage."
"I’m no cat, so I don’t have nine lives for that."
Had Leonard spouted such words prior to the examination, they might have agreed with him.
However, that wasn’t the case.
Despite their astonishment, some were eager to watch him get blasted. But they were bound to be disappointed.
"I can’t see, but I can still appreciate it, right?" Eleanor remained amiable. She was not the slightest bit offended by his taunt or somewhat insensitive commentary.
"Also, if it makes you happy to comment on my disability. You can freely do so whenever and wherever." She added.
Just like that, Leonard was cornered and checkmated. The more docile and supportive she behaved, the more he would look terrible.
After all, a picture of ungratefulness and disgrace would be painted on his face if he continued to treat her rudely.
"Ugh, you win." He raised his hands in surrender.
"No, I didn’t." She shook her head.
"I’ll win if you display a shocking scene. Don’t be like some fools who believe hiding their own power means greater protection. Oftentimes, the weaker you appear, the more eager others would want to trample you because it’ll make them feel superior."
"Duly noted."
He took her advice to heart and understood that he shouldn’t conceal his ability.
Moreover, it wasn’t that he chose to conceal them in the first place.
He never had them to begin with until recently, when he formed his first magic circle.
"Please place your hand in the orb," the Professor said, smiling lightly at Leonard.
’The Crown Prince’s result... If it’s bad, what class should I even place him in?’ Although they sought equality, the Crown Prince was a whole different status.
To place him in a lower class was no different than claiming the imperial family heirs were unworthy and inferior to other families.
Leonard remained unaware of his thought process.
’What elements do I have?’ He was concerned about his elements. He extended his hand and touched the orb.
The orb showed no reaction for 3 seconds.
A dud?
Just when the Professor thought it was the worst-case scenario, the orb suddenly illuminated.
However, its color wasn’t one of the five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, Wood, or the two unique elements: Light and Dark.
Instead, it was cyan in color.
"Upon first glance, it seemed like a Water element, but the color doesn’t sit right." The Professor furrowed their brows and muttered. The Water element resembled the color blue.
The other element colors were as follows: fire for red, earth for brown, metal for gold, wood for green, light for white, and dark for black.
Yet the current orb color resembled neither of these.
Cyan was a mixture of green and blue colors, so the Professor thought it could perhaps be a Wood and Water Element. But the brightness and colorization didn’t match what was known.
’I’ll inquire about the elements later on.’ The Professor cleared his throat and informed Leonard to proceed with the dummy test.
There was no rush in trying to figure it out at the moment.
"Understood," Leonard calmly said and approached the dummy test.
A new dummy had already been replaced.
"This is the only replacement we have left at the moment. We never anticipated a dummy would be broken." The Professor scratched his head and smiled.
"You may begin whenever you’re ready." He continued.
Just as he finished his words, Leonard had already raised his hand and made a finger gun gesture.
The tip of his pointy finger was like the gun barrel hole for his mana to exit.
’Let’s pour in all my mana and see my full power.’ Leonard closed one of his eyes and aimed carefully.
