Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Chapter 258: False Alarm

At the scene of his room being blasted, Leonard's face was full of smiles.

With the memories he had, his room naturally had the highest defensive structure.

Yet such a high-end defensive structure was still blasted open by his mana.

"So this is power…" He muttered, his eyes glancing at his shaking palm. Even though the mana control lasted briefly, it was evidence that he could control mana on a larger scale.

He no longer needed to compress them so tightly into a single trajectory.

Of course, that didn't mean he would forgo the previous technique he had learned. This result simply enabled him to have multiple cards at hand to play when dealing with his enemies.

Only a real dummy would complain about having more tricks up their sleeves to fight.

While he was satisfied with his power, Leonard forgot about the damage done.

Not the physical damage, but the mental damage he had caused.

"Intruders!"

"Quickly protect the Crown Prince!"

In less than a few seconds after the blast, numerous guards barged inside the room, their eyes laced with killing intent.

If it were any other time or day, these guards would never dare to barge in like this, but because of the sudden attack, these guards believed the Crown Prince might be in danger.

No matter how well secured a place was, there was bound to be some slip-up.

And these guards didn't dare to gamble on the chance that the Crown Prince was just fooling around.

Sure enough, Spencer also appeared in the room with extreme fury in his eyes. The pressure was so high that the guards who had barged in felt suffocated.

"Loosen up the suppression, Spence!" Amidst the horrifying moment, only one voice dared to speak up and lightly chided him.

"Crown Prince?" Spencer's attention quickly turned to him.

He did as told and loosened the suppression while applying multiple protection spells on Leonard's.

Feeling like that wasn't enough, Spencer even cast multiple healing spells and instructed a nearby guard to beckon for Librarian Seth.

The nearby guard was about to do it, but Leonard promptly stopped him.

"Enough with the exaggeration!" He shouted and told the rest to simply excuse themselves.

When that was said, the nearby guard was stuck in a predicament.

Listen to the Crown Prince or Spencer?

At usual times, the Crown Prince's words were the most natural. But this was a major incident and not a usual time.

It was only when the nearby guard saw Spencer nodding his head slightly that he heaved a sigh of relief. Since even Spencer permitted it, there was no more problem.

Sometime later, Spencer's eyes darted to the figure covered in a blanket on the bed, Eleanor.

'This woman…' His thoughts quickly wandered to many different scenarios.

Alas, now that he calmed down and glanced at the damage on the wall.

Spencer reckoned the woman must have succeeded in helping Leonard's problem out. In that regard, he could only turn a blind eye and ask. "How are you feeling now, Crown Prince?"

"I'm feeling good," Leonard clenched his fist repeatedly. Although it was somewhat exhausting and only momentarily, he was indeed able to have control over the mana.

Everything had to start somewhere, and this was just the beginning point.

'Looks like the Crown Prince's mood has turned for the better.' Spencer's eyes lit up when he could sense the latter's excitement.

A false alarm!

There was no danger except for the fact that the Crown Prince was no longer the same person.

However, it was precisely because of this that Spencer developed killing intent toward Norman and his son.

The guards and servants could never spill the beans regarding the current situation, given the strict magic contract, which would be further reinforced with a blood contract. But Norman and his son, Jasper, were different.

They were outsiders and just so happened to witness this explosion.

Had it been just Jasper alone, then everything could still be mended. After all, Jasper was a dumb buffoon who got used as a pawn without noticing.

Unfortunately, Jasper's father was a different story.

'Either killed or become a loyal slave. It just so happens that the Crown Prince needs some influence within the academy discreetly anyway.' Spencer made up his mind. As long as Norman agreed to a slave contract under Leonard, he would live. If he were to reject, then only death awaits him.

This was the harsh reality of seeing something you shouldn't see.

Many people disappeared in this world simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

A few minutes later, Spencer relayed his concern and list of options to choose from.

"Will the Mage Association discover something amiss?" Leonard didn't mind having more people on his side. But the problem stemmed from this behemoth that seemingly lorded over everything.

It wasn't that he couldn't go against the Mage Association, but this entity was a combination of all the continent's mages.

What was that saying?

One continent tried to meddle in it and would immediately risk retaliation from all other continents.

Does that mean they were all united?

The answer was no!

They simply wish to dampen one continent's mistakes while increasing their own continent's prestige.

"That you can rest assured, Crown Prince. Even though the Mage Association appears to be neutral, it's not really the truth."

Spencer chucked lightly before squinting his eyes as he shifted toward the window.

"Someone like Norman might seem untouchable to those who have no connection with the Mage Association. But in reality, they are just disposable pawns to people like us."

Nodding, Leonard delegated this assignment to Spencer to deal with.

He was too lazy to even interact with someone like Norman now that he gained new power.

"Understood," Spencer nodded and glanced briefly at Eleanor.

"Let her rest and make sure to set up proper accommodation for her." Leonard naturally discerned his glances and commanded. Since she had assisted him greatly, he shall repay the favor.

Wasn't it just his bed?

She could have it.
