Zeldris glanced at the Princess again.

He felt uncomfortable to let her go but decided to trust that that lycan Alpha, his cousin’s brother, wouldn’t try killing the Princess in broad daylight.

Laurel followed the Warrior, who stayed behind her for someone who was to walk her. He realized and rushed to her front, and properly walked her to the palace.

At the Alpha’s study, Laurel turned to the Warrior again as he walked away. "Remember, I’d sort for your life." She didn’t mince words and added. "And I’d sort for it soon."

The other two guards at the Alpha’s study became alarmed, staring at the Warrior. They saw his guilty expression and silently prayed for him.

Laurel was permitted to enter the Alpha’s study. The guards rushed to the warrior to get a full story of what he did but he rushed out immediately.

Stefan’s emotion had swayed from excitement that his mate was close, to worry that she wanted his warrior’s life. What happened again?

With her expression, she probably didn’t plan to explain. She stood there, staring at him with lidded eyes though he saw the curiosity in her eyes.

The reason she was called wasn’t anything serious like General Conrad had made it to be, so the Alpha was more interested in why she wanted to kill his warrior.

He mind linked the guards outside to leave, and they did much to their dismay as they wanted to listen in and know their colleague’s crime.

When they were gone, Stefan left his seat and pulled out a chair for Laurel. "You can sit—"
