Chapter Two Hundred-Four – Desperate
Two notices were on her desk when she returned. They must have arrived while she was at the forest because Laurel was sure she cleared the table.
One was from Darren, telling he’d be pay a visit with the Delta candidate. Laurel thought he’d really be the Delta since she didn’t have an Elite Force as second choice.
The other was from Beta Cade quarters.
Laurel didn’t think it was from that Cara, this time.
Cade’s effrontery amused her.
He asked ’politely’ that she visit his quarters as he had an urgent matter to discuss with her. If she’d be free, then he’d send a warrior to bring her.
Laurel calmly sat down and wrote a reply. "No."
She didn’t need more words. ’No’ meant everything and answered all his questions. Would she be free? No. Would she come? No.
There was nothing urgent happening at Green Valleys so she was sure that ’urgent matter didn’t concern Green Valleys. Since it didn’t, it was no business of hers.
Cade’s Alpha had also left the report with Lady Cara unanswered. They must still think she had no better use of time. She immediately gave the reply to a maid to submit.
She rushed to look for the twins but remembered the hybrid and turned back to the hall. The twins will probably be with Lisa or Valkyrie so they were safe.
