Chapter Forty-Two – Saving Him
There was a commotion at the maid quarters. The guards weren’t at the entrance so Laurel rushed inside, searching for Lisa but it didn’t seem any maid was involved.
The maids she’d been with ran to her as they saw her walk in. One of them noticed the tears in her eyes. "Did you get punished, your highness. We’re sorry for leaving you behind. W-We got scared."
Laurel exhaled, wiping the tears off. "No problem." She left them and searched for Valkyrie. Why were they guards rummaging their quarters. What did they want?
She opened her room door but someone pulled in, then the door was shut. "Frida?" she frowned at who pulled her. Her eyes went to the tall man by Frida’s side, she gasped. "Marcus?"
Frida placed a finger on her lips. "Bitch, shut up, or the guards will hear you. We need to get him out of here or he’d die. He had come looking for you..."
"Princess Laurel!" Marcus enveloped Laurel in a hug.
Laurel was dumb struck. Marcus was alive? Lena’s older brother was alive? He survived the massacre of the Green Valleys warriors. It gave Laurel so much joy than she’d have thought. She hugged Marcus back.
"Oh okay..." Frida rolled her eyes. "After, the touching reunion, can you help me think of a way to get him out of here? Because he can be a lead to get me out of here."
Laurel released Marcus. "Get you out of here?" she asked Frida. "You are a Beta wolf, right?"
