Chapter 210: Arc 4, Act I, - 55: Out of My System

The dinner came to an end and so did the stressful day. Jotou’s light evening gown drifted against the floor of her room walking in, whilst Hotaru shut the door behind her.
Upon her lips lingered a sigh. ’I can’t be like this—like today. All day I’ve been uncoordinated and distracted, I hate it. I’m lucky it was just stuffy emissaries. I couldn’t find Frost, but...
I’m not even sure what finding her would do and I’m not sure why she’s here. Just to keep guard? To assassinate Daiyu? I don’t think it’s the second one weirdly enough... Why send me that letter?
I can’t even think straight. Still, warning the guards or Daiyu or anyone might cause hell to break loose so I’ll just have to see how this plays out. In the meantime, I need to fix myself up. And to do that... I need to get her out of my system.’
"I’m going to the bathroom, why don’t you get yourself ready," Hotaru’s tail brushed past the blonde’s back, fangs in a grin.
She watched the redhead shut the bathroom door and wrinkled her face. ’Ready? I feel horrible... It’s bad enough I’m distracted, but I’m dragging her into it. I really wonder... how long this’ll last...’
The worry of the possibility of losing her... Why, why did it go further than a friendship?
The blonde knew, she knew, it could all end up in shambles. The fear began seeping in, every possibility of how this could end up badly.
She shut the curtains and turned off a few lights, her heartbeat racing out of lust and guilt. The worst case scenario... Was she ready for heartbreak? Or even worse, one that ends on bad terms?
The last thing she needed was a scolding for biting her nails again from her. The panic set in, feeling her nerves shake. She could hear Hotaru finish cleaning up with the sound of the tap stopping. ’Just get her out of your system and focus on the task of Trailon.’
She stripped all her clothing as she sat on Hotaru’s bed. ’One thing at a time.’ She sighed. ’I’ll enjoy tonight.’ The blonde stretched across the bed, lying on her tummy.
