Chapter 113: Old Friend
It had only been a few days since Hattie and Derek moved into Crimson Moon Manor, but they were already settling in like they’d lived there forever.
Hattie had even started playing golf with Mona in the backyard, while Derek went off with Louis to visit a wine collector.
From the terrace, Charlotte spotted her mother and Mona walking together in the distance. She smiled. "They’re getting along pretty well."
She and Damon were just sitting there, side by side, on the terrace that faced the backyard. They weren’t doing anything special, just sipping their morning coffee and tea, letting the sunlight warm their skin.
Charlotte could finally relax today. She had no scenes to shoot. The director had given her a day off, saying he didn’t want her pushing herself too hard after being sick.
Most of her scenes were already done anyway. If things went as planned, filming would be over in three more weeks.
What a journey it had been.
"Maybe it’s because they’re both social butterflies," Damon said, sipping his black coffee while watching Mona in the distance. "My mother can make friends with anyone in under five minutes."
Charlotte let out a small laugh. She couldn’t relate at all. It took her at least three months to really feel close to someone. Until then, she usually just saw people as acquaintances.
