Chapter 105: Special Lunch [M]
"Sweetheart, if you keep doing this ..." Damon cupped her face gently, his voice dropping to a playful whisper. "I might eat you for lunch instead."
"I don’t mind," Charlotte replied with a shy but teasing smile. Instead of pulling away, her fingers wandered slowly down his chest, undoing his buttons one by one until his shirt was completely open.
She rested her hands on his bare chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart under her palms. "But if you’d rather not," she whispered playfully, "I can always go get you a proper lunch."
As she started to slip away, Damon caught her by the waist, holding her firmly but with care. His hands slid under her dress, his warm touch sending tingles up her thighs.
"I think I’d rather have this kind of lunch," he murmured, flashing a wicked smile.
Before he could go further, Charlotte gently stopped him. "But, Damon," she whispered, cheeks flushing, "do you mind if we use protection this time? I... I’m just not ready for another baby yet."
The playful glint in Damon’s eyes softened, replaced by pure tenderness. He pulled back slightly and brought her hands to his lips, kissing them gently.
"Sweetheart," he said softly, kissing her knuckles, "you don’t even have to ask." His voice was gentle and full of love. "This is your body, your choice. I would never, ever push you."
"Then ... should we buy the protection first?" Charlotte’s cheeks turned even redder. "I can go and buy it."
"No need." Damon chuckled softly, reaching into the inner pocket of his jacket that was hanging on the nearby chair. He pulled out a small foil packet. "I always carry one, just in case."
"T-Then... should we buy it first?" Charlotte mumbled, cheeks burning. "I can go and get it."
