Charlotte listened intently, noticing how Damon’s shoulders seemed to relax slightly at the elder’s words. He must be relieved that he didn’t have to do this alone anymore.

"I will summon the other elders," Alderic continued. "You’re not just asking for help, Damon. You’re asking for the Order to interfere directly in the affairs of Suncreast City and its leadership. We need solid evidence before we proceed."

"We have some," Damon replied. "But we need your help to identify Ronan’s fingerprints on the watch without alerting him."

Alderic nodded thoughtfully, tapping his finger against the armrest. "Smart. If Ronan catches even a hint of suspicion, he’ll bury whatever remains of the evidence and vanish without a trace."

His sharp eyes flicked toward Damon. "Fortunately, we have ways of accessing the database quietly. Leave the watch and any samples you have with me. My people will handle it."
