Chapter 50 : Darkhold
The Next Afternoon.
New York International Airport.
On weekends, the airport is bustling with people, and all kinds of individuals pass through the security gates. In a fast-paced city like New York, not many people slow down.
At the bus stop outside the terminal, two figures, one tall and one short, each pulling a suitcase, stood under the sun, waiting for the bus.
"Go out to save the world, go round and round, and come back," Finn said, stretching his body and taking a deep breath as he looked at the bustling city.
Even though they had only been away for three days, it felt like an eternity. So much had happened in those three days that it was hard to believe it had been such a short time.
"That wasn't saving the world. It was all a hoax," Wanda replied, thinking about the so-called end-of-the-world mission they had been part of, which turned out to be nothing more than an elaborate ruse.
"Don't blame yourself. It's that Mysterio guy's fault," Finn said with a reassuring smile.
"Besides, stopping him was still a memorable thing. If we hadn't, I can't imagine how many more people would have been deceived."
"Yeah, Mysterio was right. Most people only believe what they see. Only a few care about the truth," Wanda sighed deeply.
After everything they had been through in those three days, she knew she wouldn't trust anyone so easily in the future.
