The drama crew held a small get together the night before the day of the departure. Dong Haoyu’s involvement quickly spread to the rest of the crew too and some were still in disbelief that he could go to such lengths to kill Wan Guanting.
Zeng Shan, the makeup artist, was openly keeping her distance from him while the rest, though shaken, were not avoiding him to that extent. Guo Juan was simply happy to see Chow Mey look happy.
Though it was difficult to bring a sudden change, she was now slowly becoming a little more open in expressing herself to Dong Haoyu. Chow Mey looked around and asked Meng Rin. "...Caishen is not here yet?"
Meng Rin, who was fiddling with her phone, attempted to smile. "I think he will be coming down in some time."
"I see..."
Dong Haoyu read her knitted brows and asked, "Is everything okay?"
Chow Mey let out a strained smile. "I just need to talk to Caishen for sometime. It’s important."
He didn’t press on further, sensing her hesitation.
A while later when Bai Caishen finally arrived, Chow Mey rose to her feet and asked for some private time. His dark eyes squinted at her and at first, she thought that he would definitely reject her.
"Hm."
Surprisingly, he agreed, though with a cold undertone.
