Chapter 1249 - 1248: What Does She Have Besides Youth?
Nia Mitchell sat over there, blinking, not really understanding what it all meant.
The little Oliver Anne kept talking about, who exactly is that?
She sat there and turned her head to glance at the CEO.
But the CEO was frowning, lost in thought, and didn’t respond to her gaze.
"Maxwell, I really don’t know what else to do. Back then... when I came back to the country, I wanted to move in and live near you, but you wouldn’t agree. Now I’m really scared."
As she spoke, Anne Davidson kept staring at Maxwell Peary.
"If you’re really that scared, you should go back to Provence. I honestly don’t understand why you came back."
Maxwell Peary’s words dealt a huge blow to Anne Davidson.
She had never imagined he would say something so heartless.
The way he was back then, he wasn’t like this.
"Maxwell, how can you be like this? After all these years, am I really doomed to stay in a foreign land forever?"
She misses home too, she wants to come back and take a look too.
"Anne Davidson, I’ll give you three days. Go back. Otherwise, I’m not taking responsibility for your safety."
Maxwell Peary knitted his brows tightly. After saying this, he ignored her sitting there, stood up directly, bent down, and scooped Nia Mitchell up around the waist.
"Ah!"
Nia Mitchell was startled, never expecting Maxwell Peary to suddenly do something like this.
"You went to bed so late last night. Who gave you permission to get up this early in the morning? Hm?"
So disobedient. Just look at how worn-out she looks right now; it really makes his heart ache.
"I just woke up and realized Uncle, you were gone, so I came downstairs to look for you."
Listening to Maxwell Peary’s words, Nia Mitchell stuck out the tip of her tongue, speaking in a sweet tone,
It had to be said, the Nia Mitchell now really was a completely different person from before.
"Even if you’re looking for me, that’s not okay. What do you have a phone for?"
If she wants to find him, she can call. Why get out of bed and come looking for him alone?
Hearing this, Nia Mitchell froze for a second.
Ah!
She was so silly, she’d completely forgotten that.
She could have called Maxwell Peary; that way she wouldn’t have needed to leave her warm bed at all.
"Next time you look for me, remember to call, got it?"
"Got it."
"You’re not allowed to get up so early. Look at you, you haven’t rested properly at all, even your complexion has gotten worse."
"It hasn’t gotten worse at all."
Without even looking in a mirror, Nia Mitchell knew her complexion had to be better than ever right now.
She’d just been fuming a moment ago; of course her little face was all flushed and rosy. How could her complexion be bad?
"If I say it’s worse, then it’s worse."
......
In her ears, the intimate chatter between Nia Mitchell and Maxwell Peary drifted farther and farther away.
Anne Davidson collapsed back into her seat, her face deathly pale.
The high-and-mighty Maxwell Peary—how could he have said those things?
Why is it that whenever he’s with Nia Mitchell, Maxwell Peary turns into someone completely unlike himself?
Could this really be who he is now?
Anne Davidson couldn’t believe Maxwell Peary had actually driven her away.
No way!
She was not willing to accept this!
"Miss Anne, please leave."
Frederick Goldsmith walked over at that moment, seeing Anne Davidson still sitting in the Living Room, and couldn’t help speaking up.
If Young Master Peary came down from upstairs later and saw Anne Davidson still sitting here, he would definitely be in a very bad mood.
Hearing Frederick Goldsmith’s words, Anne Davidson let out a bitter laugh and stood up.
"Butler Frederick, I don’t understand why even you’ve started treating me like an enemy. What’s so great about that Nia Mitchell?"
She’s just a little younger, that’s all.
