Chapter 37: Sophie
After leaving the crowded dungeon area and the forest, he headed back to town. He only got close and he could see tons of carriages entering the town.
"I guess having a dungeon is really a big deal," he said and kept walking toward the gate. There was a line for people entering with their feet and people entering with carriages.
He ignored both though, he was far too injured to wait that long in a line, so he made his way to the gates, but as he passed people, they immediately started yelling about him cutting. Everyone was raging.
He didn’t pay attention to them though, headed his way to the front of the line and was about to enter, but suddenly a guard pushed him to the ground out of nowhere.
Normally, with his high perception, he would have known that someone was coming, but that was not the case now because he was distracted by his own pain.
He looked up in shock and saw the man standing above him, girded in simple steel armour, black hair and a smug expression on his face. He looked down at Riven like he was looking at some sort of dirt or something like that.
That expression on his face made Riven pissed. He tried to get back on his feet, but the man used his foot and pushed Riven back to the ground. Everyone watched and cheered for the guard; he was standing up for them and making sure that no one cut through the line.
"How dare you try to cut the line, kid?" he asked, his smug expression still on his face. The cheers of everyone around made him feel too big at the moment.
"You pushed me down twice," Riven muttered, but it was not loud enough for the man to hear.
