Chapter 314: The End of a Greedy man -2
Yohan took another look at Hatoru and decided that Jenna was right. This man didn’t deserve justice. What he deserved was a merciless death.
He turned and walked toward Helen.
"He attacked me. Hand me your gun."
She held her breath.
"Yohan, no."
"Helen, you witnessed this man stab me in the arm and shoot that woman. This isn’t about what’s right or wrong. This is simply what I’ve decided. Hand me the gun."
Helen lowered her head and gave it to him.
"No," Izumi said weakly, but Helen had already begun pulling her out of the room.
"No, please don’t!" Her screams filled the room even as she was dragged outside.
Yohan ignored her. He walked back to Hatoru’s broken and battered body and pointed the gun at him.
"You never asked me what happened to your parents," the old man said with a groan.
"They’re dead. Why should I give a fuck?"
"You know... it wasn’t much different from this sight," he forced out with a chuckle.
"That’s good to know."
A loud bang echoed through the room.
Then another.
And another.
And another.
Afterward, Yohan pulled the knife from Hatoru’s ankle. The lifeless body showed no reaction.
He then cut Jenna’s ropes loose.
She rushed to her mother’s side immediately, with Yohan right behind her.
"Jenna..." the woman whispered, raising a trembling hand to her daughter’s face with a smile.
Without hesitation, Yohan poured the last of his healing elixir into her mouth.
For a few seconds, nothing happened.
Then her eyes flew open, and she coughed out the bullet.
It had entered through her back, and there had been a lot of blood, but after drinking the elixir, the wound closed as if by magic.
"H-How?" the woman mumbled.
Jenna wrapped her arms around her neck, tears streaming down her face as she cried.
Her younger sister joined the embrace, and the three of them cried their hearts out.
Yohan stood by and watched.
Seeing them like this, it was almost easy to forget there was a dead body lying in the same room.
’I guess my job here is done. I’d better get out before more people arrive.’
As he stepped out of the office, he found Helen squatting by the corner, holding Izumi as she sobbed.
She was crying just like Jenna.
But for a very different reason.
Most people would tell her to stop, ask why she would waste tears on a monster like that.
Yet somehow, Yohan understood.
Hatoru was the only family she had ever known, regardless of the fact that he had been a cold-blooded murderer.
’She probably hates me now.’
As he reached the stairs, he found Simon Red barely managing to keep himself upright.
"What have you done?!" Simon asked, his hand covering his mouth as if he were trying to stop his jaw from falling off.
"Get out of my way," Yohan said coldly. "Unless you want to die."
Simon didn’t say another word. He pressed himself against the wall as Yohan walked past.
Yohan didn’t even bother looking at him.
Something inside him told him to crush Simon’s skull and end it right there.
But he stopped himself.
No matter the reason, killing like this wasn’t a good thing.
The fact that he could even think about it as though it were easy was already disturbing enough, and he was quick to realize it.
When he got out, Gunjoo was waiting at the entrance with a van.
He got in without a word and they drove off.
...
A short while later, more police officers arrived, and everyone present was taken in for questioning.
Helen confessed to killing Hatoru after he shot Jenna’s mother.
Izumi refused to give a statement. Jenna did the same. Fortunately for them, Helen’s confession ensured they weren’t treated as suspects.
The only time Yohan’s name came up was during Simon’s interrogation, but the story he told made very little sense. It was hard to convince anyone that all of the destruction in Hatoru’s house had been caused by a single man.
He couldn’t properly explain what had happened without mentioning the Baker, and rather than take that risk, he eventually gave up trying.
In the end, it was almost as though Hatoru’s house had been raided by a ghost.
Even with the testimonies from the officers Yohan had first taken down, along with the others he had fought, there was simply no way to identify and pin everything on him.
Meanwhile, word spread throughout the city that there was a new boss in town.
Some people knew his name. Others only knew of his existence.
But everyone could feel the shift.
His presence alone had changed the balance.
"Where to?" Gunjoo asked after driving around for a while.
"Take me home," Yohan said quietly.
As they pulled up in front of his uncle’s house, a flood of familiar memories rushed back to him.
A small smile crept onto his face.
It took him a few minutes after Gunjoo drove away before he finally gathered the courage to knock on the door.
"I’m coming!" Vivian’s voice called out from somewhere inside the house.
"Yohan..." she gasped as the door swung open.
His smile widened at the sight of her beautiful face.
"I’m back."
She threw herself into his arms without hesitation, not caring that they were standing right in the doorway where anyone could see them.
It felt as though all the time they had spent apart had been compressed into that single embrace.
Warm.
Safe.
And full of love.
He could feel her softness all around, enough to make his dick push against his pants
’Shit! What am I thinking already?’ He forced the thought out as they separated.
"Where have you been? I thought something had happened to you," her voice filled with concern.
From inside he could hear the news about what happened at Hatoru’s house broadcasting live. The death of someone as infamous as he was made it a breaking news.
"Let’s head inside first," he answered softly.
