Chapter 871 - 867: Staying Overnight at the Nameless Manor (3)
Grabbing her, he held her close and walked out of the Study Room, Jimmy Horne domineeringly murmured, "If you marry me, we can have a bunch of kids."
Pinching his waist with embarrassment, Camila Ruiz intentionally said, "Who wants to marry you? I'm only twenty-three; I don't want to get married so early."
"If you don't marry me, who will you marry? Besides me, who dares to marry you? Try it!" He promised to tear those men she wants to marry into pieces.
He's determined that she's his, for this lifetime, and even in the next, he'd reserve her.
"You're so domineering. Men from the Horne Family always have that domineering aura," Camila Ruiz laughed.
She was just joking, yet he showed his authoritative side immediately.
"My dominance shows only for you, and my gentleness too is just for you. Camila, promise me, aside from me, don't marry any other man!"
He knew it was just a joke, but he was afraid.
There are certainly men in the world more excellent than him, and he's really worried she might choose someone else.
He can't be without her!
He can't lose her!
"I'm hungry."
Camila Ruiz blinked her bright eyes, fixedly looking at him, slightly infuriating.
Jimmy Horne's handsome face twitched; this girl... In such a situation, she playfully uttered, "I'm hungry."
Reining in his dominance, he coolly said, "Let's go downstairs for dinner." After dinner, he'll slowly settle accounts with her.
The two returned to the first floor, entered the exquisite small dining room beside the hall, and began their dinner.
After eating and drinking to satisfaction, Jimmy Horne took Camila Ruiz up to the rooftop.
Once on the rooftop, Camila Ruiz suddenly exclaimed in surprise, "Oh my, who placed so many basins here? Is it an exhibition?"
A cool, muffled voice came from beside her: "I had people place them here."
Him?
Camila Ruiz turned to look at him in disbelief, not understanding his intention.
"Look more closely."
Jimmy Horne remained cool, still thinking about Camila Ruiz's joking words from earlier.
Seeing his tense face, Camila Ruiz knew why he was angry. She felt delighted; occasionally teasing him felt quite satisfying. However, she must never let him know she's teasing him, or she'd be in trouble.
Camila Ruiz carefully looked at those stainless steel basins, all filled with water, reflecting the stars and moon high above. At a glance, it seemed like they held moons and stars within. The basins were the same size, neatly organized; wherever one looked, they could see the moon captured inside the basin.
At this moment, the moon was no longer a crescent but had become full.
The reflected moon in the basin was so clear, so captivating, round, bright, and gentle.
Looking from afar, it was startling to find that the basins were arranged in a pattern to spell the words "I'd pick stars and moons for you" in Chinese.
It looked cliché but felt romantic and touching.
Fortunately, the rooftop was spacious enough to accommodate so many small basins.
"Understand now?"
Jimmy Horne encircled her from behind, asking in a low, hoarse voice.
"I don't understand."
Camila Ruiz replied brightly.
Jimmy Horne wasn't angry or anxious, "I love you, even if you want stars and moons, I'd pick them down for you."
"I still don't understand."
Camila Ruiz continued to look at him brightly.
Jimmy Horne laughed, turned her around, lifted her chin, speaking earnestly and deeply, "It's okay. I'll spend a lifetime helping you understand."
Camila Ruiz laughed, voluntarily hugging him, saying, "Alright!"
How could she not understand his tender love?
All she wanted was this one sincere sentence.
"Camila."
"Mm."
"Don't marry anyone else, okay?"
"Silly, who besides you loves me more?" She was just teasing him earlier, and he took it to heart. She felt safe, but he didn't.
Seems she needs to decide on some things.
Though it's a little early, after waiting for him all these years, it's not really early; it should be a natural outcome, as if she's finally reached the destination after long enduring clouds.
"I'm still worried."
Jimmy Horne's hoarse voice had a slyness, his deep eyes shimmering with tenderness.
"Wait until my parents return from their second honeymoon, then propose to me, and you can rest assured."
Jimmy Horne was ecstatic, so she was willing to marry him after all.
"But just an engagement; I'm still young and don't want to rush into marriage."
His ecstasy diminished slightly, yet he still maintained deep joy, his words filled with timeless devotion: "I'm willing to wait." She waited for him for eight years, so he's willing to wait for her for eight years, or a lifetime.
"No regrets."
"Mm."
"I'm touched."
"Then give me a kiss."
A loud smack echoed, as the lady took the initiative to kiss the man.
For a moment.
Jimmy Horne led her to sit at the table he had people prepare earlier, with some seasonal fruits, drinks, and two bottles of red wine.
Under the starlit night, they sat on the open rooftop, beneath the sky, eating fruit, drinking beverages, and savoring red wine with a loved one.
The moonlight gradually filled out, pouring down like a waterfall from the sky, gentle as water.
The stars seemed tiny but extraordinarily bright, like sesame seeds embedded in the black sky, twinkling dots, possessing unique charm, love, and romance.
A gentle breeze blew in the night, particularly refreshing, comforting.
"Such beautiful moonlight, such beautiful stars."
Looking up at the starry sky, Camila Ruiz praised genuinely.
Then looked at the basins arranged in words, similarly filled with starlight and moons, basin after basin, looked exceptionally moving.
Such creativity could only come from Jimmy Horne.
Jimmy Horne said nothing, just quietly watched her.
The two sat on the open rooftop, gazing at stars and the moon, drinking wine, flirting, talking about love, letting time slip through their fingertips.
Time is ruthless, taking away the years.
Human warmth remains, leaving behind deeply touching love.
Soon, night deepened to early morning.
Jimmy Horne set down his wine glass, the two bottles of red wine having been completely drained by them.
Camila Ruiz, although not as easily drunk as Julia Bluen, wasn't immune to alcohol. After all, drinking too much red wine made Julia tipsy. Yet, after finishing a bottle of red wine alone, Camila Ruiz's face was flush, still clear-headed, but slightly dizzy.
Her alcohol tolerance wasn't great.
"Camila, it's very late, let me escort you home." Jimmy Horne stood up, stepped forward, helped her up from her chair, speaking gently.
"You have Guest Rooms here, right? I'll just stay here for the night; it's too late, and I'm worried about you." Camila Ruiz softly said. If he takes her home, he can be at ease but her unease over his traveling back and forth from Nameless Manor, she couldn't bear it.
To avoid each other's worries, she felt staying at Nameless Manor was best.
Jimmy Horne's eyes flickered, his voice grew rich, "Camila, have you really decided to stay overnight?"
"Yes." Camila Ruiz rubbed her aching forehead, muttering to herself: Her alcohol tolerance is surprisingly as weak as her stepmother's.
One bottle of red wine made her drowsy.
In truth, it was the late hour. She was tired, combined with some wine, causing her to feel drowsy.
"There may be danger."
Jimmy Horne's voice became richer and more melodious.
Resting her head on his shoulder, Camila Ruiz murmured, "Is there a Big Bad Wolf?"
Jimmy Horne laughed lowly, scooped her up at the waist. This state of hers, if he let her go downstairs herself, she'd probably sit and sleep on the stairs. "Yes."
He was the Big Bad Wolf!
"I'm not afraid, I want to be the Red Riding Hood, bring me a frying pan..."
Camila Ruiz didn't finish her murmured sentence.
Jimmy Horne chuckled.
He was the Big Bad Wolf; she was the Red Riding Hood.
Holding her in a drowsy state, unaware of the implications of staying overnight, he boldly descended the stairs.
