Seeing joy on everyone’s faces, James Horne quietly left the hall and went outside to the Courtyard. He wandered along the concrete path in the garden. He didn’t know why he felt compelled to escape from the house.
Was it because he no longer wanted to see his older brother’s rare display of tenderness, or because he didn’t want to see Julia Bluen’s beautiful, oval-shaped face?
Reaching the edge of the huge outdoor swimming pool in the Courtyard, James Horne stopped. He stood by the water’s edge, his brooding eyes locked on the clear water, lips pressed tightly together, hands stuffed in his pockets, his expression a mixture of iciness and gloom.
"Your beloved older brother is about to become someone else’s husband. What’s the use of lurking here and glaring at the swimming pool? If you have the guts, kill Julia Bluen! Or steal her away and make her yours!" A cold, mocking voice suddenly came from behind him.
