Rebirth: Clinging to My Possessive Magnate

Chapter 1298: What Can I Do About It

"You’ve told these lies so often that you actually believe them yourselves! Absolutely shameless!" Sophie Wilson cursed angrily.

"Good! Such a sharp-tongued girl!" Old Mr. Chapman trembled with anger, unable to hold back a cough.

Frightened, Henry quickly helped him catch his breath and poured him some water to drink.

After ensuring his grandfather was fine, Henry turned and berated, "Sophie Wilson, this is the Chapman family, and you can’t be so presumptuous!"

"I didn’t want to come either." Sophie chuckled, spreading her hands. "You all insisted on inviting Mr. Seymour from my family."

"We wanted Charles to come over..."

"For what? To be bullied by you again? Let me tell you, Mr. Seymour from my family is an honest man who’s been pushed around by you for years. I’m not a pushover!" Sophie sneered.

"I’ll handle all matters for Mr. Seymour from my family. Whatever you have to say, say it to me." Sophie decided firmly.

Henry looked at Sophie absurdly; where did she get the confidence to represent Charles?

"Can she make decisions for you?" Old Mr. Chapman asked Charles with a cold sneer. "You’re letting a woman call the shots for you?"

"Sophie won’t harm me," Charles said, and the faces of the two Chapman family members darkened.

Sophie, on the other hand, couldn’t stop giggling.

Mr. Seymour from her family was indeed "cunning."

On the surface, the words sounded like a reaffirmation of his trust in her, but weren’t they actually insinuating that the Chapman family had been harming him all along?

"Hmph, then there’s no need to talk any further." Old Mr. Chapman, wanting to save face, was not about to tolerate being reprimanded by someone younger.

"Then we’ll be leaving." Sophie stood up, smiling sweetly at Old Mr. Chapman. Just as she was about to turn, she seemed to recall something and added, "Your hand seems to be in the affairs at my hospital. Are you full and bored with nothing to do?"

"I invited him over to tell him that a hospital is a matter of life and death, not a place for fooling around!" Old Mr. Chapman seemed to assume he had regained some control, lecturing Sophie.

"Oh, so that’s what it is." Sophie couldn’t help but laugh aloud. "Then you weren’t trying to invite Mr. Seymour from my family, but me. Seems like I came to the right place."

"The Chapman family isn’t divine, it’s not the ruler of the world, you can’t just make things happen by saying so. I have my own standards for what I want to do, and rest assured, I wouldn’t engage in shameless acts like yours!" After finishing her statement, Sophie couldn’t care less about Old Mr. Chapman’s face, which was as dark as a pot bottom, and dragged Charles out with her.

At the doorway, as Sophie was about to get into the car, she heard Henry’s angry shout from behind: "Sophie Wilson, stop right there!"

Sophie turned around, looking at the furious Henry rushing over, raising an eyebrow. Angry, are we?

Serves you right!

"No need to see us off." Sophie said with a cheerful smile, as if she were a gracious guest stopping a host overly eager to send them off.

Henry, charging forward, stumbled, almost losing his balance and falling to the ground.

Who was coming to send them off?

"Sophie Wilson, is this the attitude you younger ones have?" Henry stood in front of Sophie, asking angrily.

Sophie laughed and asked him, "It was the Chapman family who called, wasn’t it? It was the Chapman family who invited us, right?"

"Since you were looking for a scolding, what could I do? As a junior, of course I must fulfill the elders’ requests."
