Chapter 1296: For the Sake of Money
Old Mr. Chapman’s gaze slid from Charles Seymour’s face and finally landed on Sophie Wilson, saying with a forced smile, "I didn’t expect my granddaughter-in-law to be so eloquent, it has really opened my eyes."
Sophie Wilson shyly smiled, "Old man, I know I’m excellent, you don’t need to admire me too much."
The fake smile on Old Mr. Chapman’s face almost slipped, this Sophie Wilson, so shameless.
"But, old man, you shouldn’t recognize family members so casually. There’s no granddaughter-in-law of yours here, I don’t care for Henry Chapman, he’s got someone he loves." Sophie said, coyly snuggling into Charles Seymour’s arms, looking at him affectionately.
Charles Seymour looked down, his eyes only on his Sophie, as for the others, he ignored them completely.
Henry Chapman’s face grew increasingly ugly, but Old Mr. Chapman laughed in anger and questioned, "What? Charles now has some abilities and doesn’t even recognize his grandpa anymore?"
"Oh dear... old man, are you Mr. Seymour’s grandpa?" Sophie Wilson asked in surprise.
"He never told you?" Old Mr. Chapman sneered, "Seems like he thinks my Chapman Family isn’t as wealthy as the Seymour Family."
Oh, so he’s saying her Mr. Seymour values Old Mr. Seymour’s money, and therefore only recognizes Old Mr. Seymour and not him, right?
"Alas, some people only think about money, no wonder they think like that." Sophie Wilson sighed, "Also, if it weren’t for money, why would they marry their daughter off to a man like Ethan Seymour."
"Sophie Wilson, you’re being outrageous!" Old Mr. Chapman snapped, his eyes widening.
"I’ll be outrageous five times then." Sophie Wilson replied with a sneer, "What era is this, still talking about outrageous or not, old man, do you really think you’re an Emperor from ancient times?"
"Even when not in ancient times, I’ve never seen people not recognize their relatives!" Henry Chapman couldn’t hold back his anger and shouted.
"I’ve also never seen such shameless people as your family!" Sophie Wilson was already fuming inside, and the Chapman Family just ran into her hands, they couldn’t blame her for it.
"Such shameless people, using the Seymour Family’s connections to advantage yourselves, and in the end, you still have the nerve to say my Mr. Seymour is money-eyed? Aren’t you money-eyed?" Sophie Wilson cursed, "Ha, if you have the guts, don’t take advantage of the Seymour Family in the first place!"
"What’s wrong with mutual benefits between relatives? Our family never thought Ethan Seymour would be so shameless, having an affair during marriage, finding a mistress!" Henry Chapman said angrily.
"Ethan Seymour finding a mistress is Ethan Seymour’s business, why are you targeting my Mr. Seymour? He’s the real victim!" Sophie Wilson was speechless at the Chapman Family’s attitude.
"What kind of people are you? Pushing all the blame onto my Mr. Seymour. Damn, was it him who forced your Chapman Family daughter to marry Ethan Seymour?" Sophie Wilson asked angrily.
"Nonsense, if it weren’t for him, my aunt would’ve divorced Ethan Seymour long ago, would she be driven to death by a mistress and her son?" Henry Chapman was equally full of rage at this mention.
"Ha, I’ll curse you to death!" Sophie Wilson never lost an argument, her momentum definitely unmatched by Henry Chapman, "Who put a knife to your aunt’s throat forcing her to divorce or die? She couldn’t leave Ethan Seymour! "
"She couldn’t leave Ethan Seymour and that’s fine, but then she pushes my Mr. Seymour to the front as a shield! Saying it’s for him to have a complete family that she doesn’t divorce!"
