Chapter 1260: Too Lazy to Even Look Down on
"Baby!" Sophie Wilson scooped the child up in her arms. Such a tiny little thing, soft and warm against her chest, and her heart was so full it was bursting with happiness.
"Mommy, mommy mommy mommy..." Baby wrapped his arms around Sophie, his little mouth chattering with excitement, calling out as happy as could be.
He even hooked his chubby little arms around Sophie’s neck, hugged her, smacked, and planted a gentle little kiss on her cheek.
"Oh my, Baby kissed Mommy." Sophie laughed happily, lowered her head, and gave him a big kiss on the forehead.
Baby was stunned by the sudden kiss. His little hand lifted in a daze and touched his own forehead. So soft.
Baby blinked twice, then it clicked—Mommy was kissing him. Mommy loved Baby too.
This was his mommy.
Once he figured that out, Baby’s eyes suddenly lit up. He hugged Sophie tight and gave her cheek a big smacking kiss. After kissing her, he called out in a crisp little voice, "Mommy!"
He had a mommy now!
This was his mommy!
"Yeah!" Sophie answered loudly. The big one and the little one kept calling each other, kissing each other back and forth, just over the moon.
The mother-and-son interaction had Old Mrs. Seymour dabbing at the corners of her eyes. "Look at them, their bond is so good. This is the natural instinct between mother and child."
After Old Mrs. Seymour finished speaking, she didn’t get any response from Charles Seymour, which made her turn her head in confusion to look over.
One look, and she realized Charles’s face was as dark as the bottom of a pot.
Old Mrs. Seymour’s heart skipped a beat and she asked, "What’s wrong?"
"Sophie has never kissed me like that." Charles said sourly.
Sure, they’d kissed too, but had Sophie ever been that enthusiastic back then?
He’d actually been outdone by his own son.
Old Mrs. Seymour gave Charles a disdainful look. Wasn’t it just that he didn’t have enough charm?
"I raised Baby myself, changing diapers and everything, and he’s never kissed me like that either." Charles continued to sulk.
Why is it that the moment mother and son met, he instantly had this feeling of being abandoned?
Like he was the third wheel between them.
After hearing that, Old Mrs. Seymour didn’t even feel like wasting a look of contempt on him anymore.
How old was he now, and he was still this childish?
"Sophie, there’s a playroom with Baby’s toys upstairs. You two can go play in there." Old Mrs. Seymour said with a smiling face.
"Mommy." Baby clung tightly to Sophie’s finger, looking up at her expectantly.
"Okay." Sophie stood up and scooped Baby into her arms. "Let’s go, we’re going to check out Baby’s playroom!"
"Mommy, I have a big tiger, I’ll give it to you." Baby’s childish voice made Sophie chuckle softly. "Really? You’re giving Mommy your big tiger? Come on, let’s go see Baby’s tiger-hunting skills!"
"Where are you going?" Old Mrs. Seymour grabbed Charles, who’d been about to follow them upstairs.
Charles had to exert a lot of effort to tear his reluctant gaze away from Sophie and Baby. He turned to look at Old Mrs. Seymour. "Tell me what’s going on, exactly?"
"Classified." Charles used that same line again to answer Old Mrs. Seymour.
Old Mrs. Seymour’s eyes narrowed and she snorted. "Now that you’ve told Sophie, it’s no longer classified, is it?"
"Sophie... was also one of the people who participated in that classified incident with me." Charles suddenly put on a serious expression, making Old Mrs. Seymour suck in a sharp breath. "Sophie... how... You two kids really never let anyone stop worrying, do you?"
