Chapter 1238: Totally Unreliable
Kai Bright: "..."
Not even a polite word?
This guy Charles Seymour, wasn’t he in a good mood just now?
Forget it, he won’t argue with him.
Kai Bright shrugged, walked out, and drove away.
As he passed by a car on the community road, he smiled, rolled down his window, and greeted, "Uncle."
"You came for..." Mason Wilson, who just got back from overtime, asked curiously.
"I came to see Charles, who knew he was on a business trip, so it was a wasted trip." Kai Bright smiled helplessly, lying without a trace, "Just got off work, uncle? Go home quickly. I’ll come to see you and aunt in a couple of days."
"Alright, drive safe." After Mason Wilson exchanged greetings with him, the two cars continued on their separate ways.
Kai Bright drove away, shaking his head with a smile. How would his aunt and uncle know that Charles, who was supposed to be on a business trip, was in his house making a big scene?
Sophie had experienced a life-and-death test.
Fortunately, the result was good in the end.
"Hmm, a celebration is in order." Kai Bright thought happily, turned the steering wheel, and headed towards the shopping district.
He’s not accustomed to drinking, but buying a heap of snacks to eat is always good.
In the mall’s upscale supermarket, he swept through various imported snacks, and while lining up to check out, he was humming a tune.
"Sorry miss, there’s a problem with your card." The cashier handed back the bank card to the lady at the checkout.
"Ah?" The lady took her card in confusion and murmured awkwardly, "How could this be? Well, I’ll pay in cash then."
She quickly opened her wallet, and it was apparent that there wasn’t enough cash to cover her expenses.
"Use mine." Kai Bright directly handed over his card.
The lady waved her hands repeatedly: "That’s not right." She then quickly told the cashier, "I won’t take these things for now."
"It’s alright." Kai Bright flashed his playboy smile again, "Miss, if you feel uneasy..." With that, he turned to the cashier and asked, "Could I borrow a pen and paper?"
"Sure." The cashier blushed at Kai Bright’s handsome smile and quickly handed over the pen and paper, "Here you go."
"Thanks, beautiful." Kai Bright said with a cheeky smile, quickly wrote down a phone number, handed it to the lady at the checkout, and said, "If you’d like to return the money, just give me a call."
"Uh, okay then..." The lady, charmed by Kai Bright’s handsome smile, had her heart racing as she took the piece of paper from his hand, solemnly promised, "I’ll return it to you tomorrow."
"No rush." Kai Bright’s bright smile made the lady feel a bit breathless, so she quickly took the packed items from the cashier and jogged off.
Kai Bright then checked out, leaving in high spirits.
Outside the supermarket, he hummed a little tune to himself. Are the Cole siblings shopping here too?
But, Jason Cole’s ability to keep watch isn’t up to par, getting discovered by him so easily.
Jason Cole noticed Mia Cole staring intently in the direction Kai Bright had left and frowned, pulling her along, "Let’s go."
"Oh." Mia Cole finally snapped out of it and hurried to catch up.
"If you want to date, we’re not against it, but absolutely not with Kai Bright." Jason Cole said without room for discussion.
"Why?" Mia Cole asked in surprise.
"He’s a total playboy, too unreliable." Jason Cole frowned, spoke with displeasure.
Mia Cole: "Bro, then what do you think of Black Panther?"
