Chapter 13: Chloe
Ian looked at the unconscious Chloe sleeping in his bed for a moment before turning back to Nyanthara. She was sitting on his desk chair while drinking the unfinished wine bottle from before.
"Is she gonna be okay?"
Nyanthara turned toward Chloe and examined her with her glistening golden eyes. She emptied the glass of wine in her hand and poured more from the bottle.
"Yeah, she is gonna be okay. The healing magic I used on her was divine rank."
When Ian heard that, he sighed in relief and looked at Chloe’s beautiful sleeping face.
After her armor had disappeared, Ian had used one of his long tunics to cover her body and bring her here. She was sleeping so peacefully, wearing his shirt, he remembered the happy times he had with his EX before everything went to hell.
’I am kind of worried about her. Even though Nyanthara is here, having an extra strong person to help me when I’m in danger is always a good thing. On the other hand, she looks too beautiful and cute not to be worried.’
He shook his head and looked through the window at the burned areas of the great northern forest. For some strange reason, the fire has died out on its own after a couple of minutes.
So he didn’t have to worry about the fire spreading, but he was worried about something else.
’After a fight like that, people are bound to ask questions. It won’t be long before people link my tavern with the incident.’
Then his gaze darkened, without saying anything, he got up from the chair to leave.
