Chapter 7: There’s Something About Alvida
It's already the next morning, and I am supposed to start my training with my Magic Tutor today.
'I couldn't stop thinking about her throughout last night.'
As Lady Alvida strides out into the open expanse of the estate's vast field, I trail behind, bracing myself for what promises to be an intriguing, if not brain-bending, morning.
She looks every bit the stern schoolmistress, her blonde hair peeking out from under her hat in a way that screams, 'I mean business!'.
With a commanding gesture, she sweeps her arm out, like she's presenting a grand buffet. Instead, it's just empty grassland.
'Gotta love the theatrics,' I think to myself.
The wind tousles her bright blonde hair that peeks from underneath her hat, but she pays it no mind. Instead, she launches straight into her explanation.
"Luke," she begins, her voice steady and commanding. "There are six hierarchies of magic in our world, each more complex and demanding than the last. These tiers not only represent the level of expertise of the user, but also the level of spells one can cast."
'I already know all these on my own— but let's see the way she'll explain.'
Casually, she summons six glowing spheres, each a different color, floating them in the air like a discount solar system.
"Firstly, we have Novice Magic," she gestures towards the least impressive sphere, basically the Pluto of this magical universe. "As the name suggests, it's the most basic tier. The spells in this tier are simple and have low energy cost."
