Chapter 15: Married Life
Sure enough, the boss flatly refused. Just as Kevin thought that Jessie would give up, she continued to convince the boss with her words.
"Sir, look at how long this set has been here. I could buy a good one for fifty dollars at any other store. Let’s compromise and make it six dollars, how about that?"
Kevin had never negotiated a price before, and seeing Jessie’s performance made him feel very fresh.
Especially when seeing the boss reluctantly part with something he treasures, Jessie wears a triumphant smirk as if she’s claimed a trophy. He couldn’t help but want to laugh.
Kevin helped her load everything into the car. "Is there anything else you need to buy?"
He noticed that Jessie had only been using her own card to pay.
"A microwave," Jessie said as she sat in the car, "and some miscellaneous things. I’ll come back later to buy them myself, so you don’t have to accompany me."
Kevin nodded before saying, "I’ve already bought a microwave; someone should be coming over to install it now."
"You bought it?" Jessie was somewhat surprised.
She had just mentioned wanting to buy a microwave yesterday, and she didn’t expect Kevin to have already bought it today.
"Didn’t you say you wanted one? It’ll make cooking easier too," Kevin said as he started the car.
Jessie nodded, suddenly realizing that her husband also had a caring side.
