Chapter 237 - 101. Exposed
At night in the girls’ dormitory building, the only room with a light on was where Moli, dressed in her pajamas, lay on her bed that was only hers, doodling and writing something.
Upon closer inspection, she was holding a pencil and sketching in a notebook that shimmered with Magic Radiance.
She was documenting everything she had seen since arriving on land, using both drawings and words.
Her mother and aunt, both adventurous members of the Whale-man Species, had traveled through countless landscapes but were not adept at recording the sights they had witnessed.
Every time they returned to the Sea Floor after their travels and recounted their tales, they always left Moli struggling to imagine what sort of magnificent wonders and thrilling adventures they had experienced.
Her mother’s storytelling usually went something like this:
"I left the Sea Trench, and not long after, felt a huge creature approaching. I didn’t get a clear look, but I tried punching it. It seemed like it died, or maybe it didn’t die, anyway, it just sank motionless, and then I continued to swim forward..."
"Hmm? What’s at the northern Sea Floor? Let me think, large rocks, big fish, lots of silly Crabmen, Shrimp Men, and Jellyfish Men... Hmm, that’s it."
"On land, I’ve encountered Humans. I heard he had no weapon to use, so I lent him my sword, agreeing that he would return it when he turned thirty-five... It was my first time encountering a creature from the Human Species, quite intriguing."
Curious about the outside world, Moli racked her brain but couldn’t picture the landscapes or forms of Life her mother had seen. Whenever she asked her mother too many questions, her mother became impatient, treating her own daughter like she was Lord Ramasitia, covering her ears and pretending to sleep, which frustrated Moli to no end.
