After sending Princess Elizabeth on her way, Fisher didn’t call Trandell until it was almost evening. He had planned to let him know that Princess Elizabeth had agreed to their New Party’s request, but it turned out that Trandell was the one who called first.
"Fisher, I have sold all the gold you entrusted me to liquidate, and now I am ready to transfer the funds into your bank account. Your account hasn’t changed, has it?"
"No. I was just about to tell you, Princess Elizabeth has agreed to the deal with your New Party."
As soon as Fisher finished speaking, there was a light sound from the other end of the phone, as if something had fallen on the floor, followed by the sound of the handset seemingly slamming on the desk, causing Fisher to slightly pull the phone away from his ear.
After waiting a second, Trandell’s excited voice came through,
"What? Really! My goodness, I love you, you’re so fast! I thought it would take at least half a month before you would talk to Princess Elizabeth about it; after all, it’s hard for you to approach the Princess since you both haven’t really talked since graduating from school, right?"
So you’re the one who’s really fast?
Fisher sat in his office chair, powerless to criticize Trandell for his choice of words.
But after listening to him, Fisher glanced at his coffee cup, which was almost empty, and after a moment of flickering eyes, he said,
