Chapter 9: Complicated Desires ( 9 )
Kyouko smiled as they both stepped inside the house. Without another word, they made their way upstairs—Haruki heading to his room while Kyouko went to hers.
Just as he was about to close his door, Kyouko called out to him softly.
"Haruki?"
He turned back. "Yes, Kyouko-san?"
She gave him a warm, gentle smile. "Once you finish your shower, head downstairs for breakfast."
Haruki nodded. "Okay, Kyouko-san."
As Kyouko disappeared into her room, Haruki let out a deep breath.
Stepping into his room, he ran a hand through his hair, the slow breath escaping his lips. His mind kept replaying that moment—the closeness of their lips.
What if...
What if their lips had actually touched? How would it have felt? How would she taste? And what would've happened if he hadn't frozen there—if he had kissed her back instead?
Haruki clenched his jaw, shaking his head. What the hell am I even thinking?
