I Took A Succubus's First Time

Chapter 487: Aegis’ Feelings

Kouhei had returned to Italy and was now back at Petra’s mansion. Aegis was there with Petra, while Kouhei had brought Hina, Kyouka, and Nagisa along with him. The moment they entered the mansion, all three girls started looking at Petra with suspicious expressions, as though they were convinced she was planning to steal Kouhei away from them.

Honestly, the atmosphere was already getting awkward, and they had barely started talking.

Kouhei could practically feel the tension coming from the three girls standing beside him. Hina, Kyouka, and Nagisa weren’t saying anything just yet, but the looks they were giving Petra made their feelings pretty obvious. It was the sort of look someone would give a person who had walked into their house and announced that they were taking something valuable with them.

Except, in this case, the valuable thing was their boyfriend.

"I didn’t think you’d bring an entire entourage with you this time, Kouhei," Petra remarked with an amused smile.

"W-Well, they insisted on coming," Kouhei replied, scratching his cheek with a slightly awkward smile. He had a feeling this visit wasn’t going to be nearly as peaceful as he had hoped.

"Of course we insisted," Yuuna said with a smile that looked friendly on the surface but was cold enough to make the atmosphere around them feel several degrees lower. "After hearing what happened the last time Kouhei-kun came here, do you honestly expect me to let him casually return to this place without asking a few questions first?"

Her smile remained perfectly composed, but the message behind it was painfully clear.

Kouhei could practically hear the imaginary ice cracking beneath his feet.

Petra, on the other hand, seemed to find the entire situation entertaining. Rather than looking intimidated by the girls’ reactions, she tilted her head slightly and looked toward Kouhei with a playful expression.

"Oh my, did you tell them what we did, Kouhei?" she asked, sounding genuinely surprised. "I didn’t expect you to be so bold that you’d tell them about our threesome so openly."

"W-Wait, what?!" Aegis reacted as though someone had just slapped her across the face with a frying pan.

She immediately turned toward Kouhei, staring at him with wide eyes that practically screamed disbelief. Her expression made it obvious that she was struggling to process what Petra had just said.

"Y-You told them about th-that, Kouhei?"

Her voice trembled as she spoke, and she looked as though she desperately wanted someone to tell her that she had misunderstood the entire conversation.

Kouhei opened his mouth, but before he could properly explain himself, Petra casually continued speaking.

"Well, he had to tell them eventually, I suppose," Petra said with a shrug. "Those girls are his girlfriends, after all."

"G-Girlfriends?!"

Aegis’s eyes widened so much that they practically resembled saucers. For a moment, she looked as though her brain had completely stopped working, leaving her with an expression of pure shock.

Then, after a few seconds, something seemed to click inside her head.

"S-So that’s why you’re so proficient at threesomes... Ah..."

The words escaped her mouth before she could stop them.

Judging by the expression that immediately appeared on her face, Aegis had probably intended to keep that particular thought to herself. Unfortunately, her mouth had apparently decided to operate independently of her brain, and by the time she realized what she had said, the damage had already been done.

Nagisa slowly turned her gaze toward Aegis.

"Proficient, huh?" she asked, her expression becoming noticeably colder.

Aegis immediately began panicking.

"S-Sorry! I didn’t mean to say it like that! I mean, that’s not what I was trying to say!" she stammered, waving her hands around as she desperately attempted to explain herself. "I-I just meant that... um... I didn’t know...!"

Unfortunately, the more she tried to explain herself, the worse everything seemed to become.

From the perspective of the three girls, the situation probably looked terrible. Aegis had slept with Kouhei during his previous visit, and she had only just discovered that he already had girlfriends. Her earlier remark about his proficiency at threesomes certainly hadn’t helped matters, either.

It was the kind of misunderstanding that would have been funny if Aegis hadn’t looked so genuinely distressed.

After all, there was a difference between knowingly getting involved with someone who already had a partner and entering a situation without knowing that person was already in a relationship. If Aegis had genuinely believed Kouhei was single, then she couldn’t have knowingly betrayed someone she didn’t even know existed.

That said, it didn’t completely erase the awkwardness of having a threesome with a man she barely knew.

Aegis seemed painfully aware of that fact, and the realization only made her panic even more.

"S-Sorry... P-Pwease... forgive me..." she began to babble, her voice growing increasingly unsteady.

Her nose started running, and before long, tears began gathering in her eyes. She looked so overwhelmed that it was almost like watching someone collapse emotionally right in front of them.

Nagisa, who had initially been looking at her rather coldly, seemed caught off guard when she saw the tears rolling down Aegis’s cheeks.

"Uh, what? W-Wait, I’m sorry," Nagisa said, her expression changing as she realized how badly Aegis had taken her reaction. "I didn’t mean to look at you like that. It’s just... you have to understand what we’re going through, too."

She scratched her cheek awkwardly, clearly unsure of what she should say next.

Nagisa hadn’t intended to make Aegis cry. She had simply been caught off guard by the entire situation.

Still, seeing Aegis practically fall apart in front of them made it difficult to remain angry without feeling a little guilty.

"Please don’t be too hard on her," Petra interjected. "If anyone deserves the blame here, it’s me."

The girls turned toward her.

"I was the one who initiated everything," Petra continued. "I wanted to test a theory, and I believed that the results would be worth investigating. My theory was that if the Child of Anti-Prophecy supplied power to the vessel of the Holy Book, we might be able to activate the Holy Book’s abilities."

She paused briefly.

"And as it turned out, the theory worked. I tested it that night, and the results were promising enough that I believe we should investigate it further. Considering the kind of power the Holy Book might possess, I don’t think we can afford to ignore such an opportunity."

Petra’s tone was considerably more serious now. She wasn’t merely trying to brush aside the awkwardness of the situation or make excuses for what had happened. From her perspective, the experiment had revealed a potentially important connection between Kouhei’s power and Aegis’s abilities.

The implications were significant enough that she wanted to understand them properly.

However, the three girls didn’t appear particularly impressed by her explanation.

"You’re talking about this as though Kouhei’s power is something you can simply take and use whenever you feel like it," Hina remarked, making the displeasure in her voice difficult to miss.

Petra blinked at the comment before responding.

"It’s not as though we have to involve sex every single time we want to use the Holy Book," she explained. "There are other possibilities. Kouhei could work with Aegis alone, or one of you could participate instead. Alternatively, all of you could work together with Aegis."

As she spoke, Petra placed a hand on Aegis’s shoulder.

"H-Huh?" Aegis murmured, looking between Petra and the others with a bewildered expression.

She seemed to understand the general idea behind Petra’s explanation, even if she was still struggling to follow the conversation as a whole.

If they wanted to activate her power, she might have to participate in another intimate ritual with Kouhei. The difference was that this time, the other girls could be involved as well.

The thought left Aegis feeling conflicted.

On one hand, the possibility made her curious, and a small part of her couldn’t deny that she was interested in Kouhei. The idea of being involved with him again wasn’t entirely unpleasant to her, especially after what had happened during their previous encounter.

On the other hand, the prospect of sharing such an experience with three women she barely knew was intimidating.

She had already found herself in an unexpected situation with Petra, someone she hadn’t even known before their encounter with Kouhei. Now, she was being told that the same thing might happen again, except this time, there would be several more people involved.

That was certainly a lot to take in during a single afternoon.

Still, the uncertainty surrounding the ritual wasn’t the only thing bothering her.

Deep down, Aegis couldn’t shake the feeling that she might simply be useful to Kouhei because of her abilities. Perhaps he was interested in her power rather than in her as a person. Maybe their previous encounter had meant something to him, but perhaps it hadn’t meant nearly as much as she had hoped.

Kouhei had told her that he liked her, and she remembered those words clearly. However, he hadn’t really explained what he meant by them, and she hadn’t been brave enough to ask him directly.

Now, she had discovered that he already had several girlfriends.

Plural.

The revelation made her wonder where she stood in all of this.

Did Kouhei genuinely like her, or had he only said those words because of the circumstances surrounding their encounter? Was she someone he wanted to know better, or was she simply a convenient way to access the Holy Book’s power?

The questions kept piling up, and she didn’t know which one she should ask first.

Aegis lowered her gaze, feeling increasingly uncertain about what she was supposed to do. She didn’t want to assume the worst about Kouhei, especially when she barely knew him, but she also didn’t want to get her hopes up over something that might never become anything more than a convenient arrangement.

It was a difficult position to be in, and she wasn’t sure how to get out of it.

Then, just as Petra’s explanation seemed to be steering the conversation toward the ritual again, Kouhei finally spoke up.

"I don’t think we should be discussing something like this without including Aegis in the decision," he said, his voice suddenly more serious than before. "She’s the one whose power we’re talking about, and she’s the one who would have to participate. We should make sure we understand how she feels about all of this before deciding anything on her behalf."

When Kouhei said that, Aegis’s heart suddenly began beating...

Really hard.
