The zombie was shot in the head and fell in front of Xiao Wu, between him and the woman.

Xiao Wu apologetically shook his head at the woman pleadingly looking at him, then turned and ran back into the alleys. This time they were not so lucky; four zombies from the horde on Round City Road had set their sights on them, relentlessly giving chase.
